Really great topics and conversations! I am a collegiate field hockey coach and find the topics and conversations very insightful.

Update: Aug. 2023--sad to say, I'm unsubscribing: can't handle the loud and disruptive sound of Steve constantly bumping/banging on his mic. I appreciate the content, suggestions, historical context, and general tone of caring towards the athletes. Thanks for sharing your expertise....Read full review »

These two gentlemen do a terrific job of combining their joint experience, with current running trends, technology and science to create the best run coaching podcast on the market. They recognise their bias when they have it and do a really good job of following the science. This is a podcast...Read full review »

After running D1 in a program where everyone was constantly injured and no one was having fun…I’ve first hand scene the value of good coaching and grounded wisdom. This podcast is the GOLD Standard for what coaches should strive for. Following Steve and his colleagues I’ve learned so much and...Read full review »

Best podcast on the subject of run coaching, in depth discussions on all subjects related to endurance training

I wish that Steve would find a different co-host. Even when Marcus makes good points he says it in such a condescending way that I don't want to listen. Not an episode goes by that he doesn't shoehorn in some unnecessarily contrarian opinion, brag about how many books he's read (and...Read full review »

I used to be a PE teacher at high school and run for fun - but despite not being a running coach I get huge amount of value from listening to these guys. If you were a track / running coach I don’t know why you wouldn’t listen!! Gold nuggets in each podcast - highly recommend for any coach or...Read full review »

Absolutely the best running podcast available! Coach Marcus is top drawer and provides amazing knowledge!

This podcast is excellent for coaches. But for the love of all things coaching - TELL LISTENERS WHERE TO GO FOR YOUR SCHOLAR PROGRAM! Myself; like most others, listen to this while driving or walking, last thing I want to try to remember when I’m done driving is go searching through show notes,...Read full review »

No way I will continue to support a podcast hosted by Job Marcus. His recent social media posts are insensitive and potentially harmful.

Great training advice from a couple of experts. Great show for athletes of any level who want to structure their training and know what works.

Most running podcasts tell runners’ stories, yet lack of discussion on when, how and why to train in certain ways. This show is so informative, it’s the best! Highly recommend for runners who want to improve their running constantly.

You two have knowledge. But again and again there are long vague philosophical rants. You need to give more examples, of workouts, workout weeks, structure etc. Everything is so extremely vague. You can't just talk about math, you have to show how to do math. It's a combination of...Read full review »

Love the material covered and knowledge. It’s super distracting though when one of the hosts (or someone near them) is eating something with a crinkly wrapper, microwaving things, drinking something, etc..... I’ve had to turn off a couple episodes and delete them because the noise there is so...Read full review »

There are very few resources out here for endurance coaches as this one. Their Scholars Program provides even more context and training, as well. I appreciate you both bringing in different experts (Joe Vigil, Mike Smith (the erudite NAU coach), amongst others) gives a great view of how to get at...Read full review »

I’ll admit that I’m one of those terrible people who don’t “rate and review” on a regular basis, but after tuning into this podcast since it’s inception I’m compelled to do so! These two episodes are a perfect demonstration of the enduring contribution these two gentlemen are making to athletics and coaching. Oh … and Episode 111 was just as good !
Noddy57 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/25/20
Love the podcast and it’s significantly improved my coaching. But some of the audio needs some improvement. The most recent episode, 110 had some bad cross fades where I couldn’t hear each other finish their points. Love everything else! Especially the tangents and conversation nature!

Unscripted, seemingly unfiltered takes on coaching from 2 of the most experienced coaches you will hear on a podcast. Keep up the great work.

Magness is a solid moderator, but Marcus does not allow the guest to adequately share his/her wisdom, instead bulldozing over them whilst patting himself on the back.

Magness is a calm, reasonable coach who does everything he can to bring order to this podcast. Marcus refuses to stay on topic and seems to willfully shun any sort of organized discussion. This podcast used to be great but it’s really slipped. Easy to listen to and generally pretty informative. A suggestion for the hosts, especially Marcus, is to mute your mic when slurping your coffee.

Love this podcast. Excited every time a new one comes out. Makes you think and revisit and reevaluate some things you do as a coach, and why you do them. You can relate to them because they speak from experience. Always giving the people what they want!

Hi guys. Really appreciate your podcast. Nr 87 on the magic intervals was great and very interesting, but even after 3 repeats I missed pieces because of all these background noises.
