Guru Dron had the agenda of taking revenge for the way he was insulted by Drupad. One day he asked all his students whether they would do something that he wanted after completing their education. While others kept silent, Arjun said yes and took a vow to that effect. This made him the favourite student. Even otherwise, Arjun was meticulous, sharp and always eager to learn new things. Arjun would focus sharply and achieve every goal. Once Guru asked all his students to focus on an artificial bird before shooting it down. Guru asked each student what the student was seeing. Every student replied that he was seeing various things. Only Arjun said that he saw nothing but the head of the bird. Arjun was the only one to pass that exam. Once, Guru Dron was taking bath in the river Ganga. A crocodile got hold of his leg. Hearing that the Guru was in distress, Arjun took no time to shoot arrows and kill the crocodile while other students were too shocked to act.
