A Musical Journey
With the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek in 2016, I looked for new ways to expand and celebrate my fandom. I discovered the Trek.fm network a little late, but am now an avid listener. This is one of my favorite podcasts of all time; podcasts are the perfect medium for music discussion as it allows all your senses to concentrate on the melodic Trek that Brandon-Shea Mutala guides. His voice is perfect for the often subdued discussions. Preparation and professionalism are standouts. I love all the interviews with composers and other musicians. It is a great way to relive the countless hours of Star Trek music and learn more than you can imagine. Music is such an important part of any moving picture; it’s amazing how much goes in to each note.

This show also has a new host, and the show has been rebooted. I really enjoy the discussion about the music of Star Trek. Also be sure to check out the interview with Ron Jones, one of the composers on Star Trek The Next Generation

Brandon-Shea Mutala has a great radio voice. This show has fantastic production value as well as pacing. Which you would want in a podcast about music. If you’re a Trek fan or even just a music fan, you need to listen.
