Brandon is a terrific host and knowledgeable to boot. If you enjoy music and Trek, or even just music in general and the stories behind how those pieces came to life, this is absolutely a show you need to put in your regular rotation.

I've been a lifelong Star Trek fan, but Brandon has brought a whole new dimension (pardon the pun) to my fandom. In the past, I've paid little attention to the music, other than the iconic themes, of course. The tunes in the background were just that, background to the action. But through this...Read full review »

In the 50 years Star Trek has been around, it has brought us some very inconic soundtracks. Melodic Treks is dedicated to the music of Star Trek. You don't just get to hear great music, but learn some of the backstory behind the tracks as well.

Having been a music lover my whole life and also a Trekkie my whole life, this show is (pardon the pun)the best of both worlds! :P Right from my early days as a Trekkie, alot of the music always grabbed me, so when I could start affording them, I was getting as many of the soundtracks as I...Read full review »

Brandon does a great job researching Trek music and discussing it intelligently, despite not having a background in music. His episodes are always interesting and entertaining and he gets great guests! If you love Star Trek music, or even just music in general, this one's for you!

First up this series of podcasts gets an automatic five star review. Why? Beacuse it is original, fresh and downright great listening. Since Brandon Shea-Mutala took over as the main anchor on this fascinating(!) Star Trek podcast it has gone from strength to strength. Brandon does a terric job...Read full review »

It took me a while to get into Melodic Treks as the format is different from most of the Trek.fm podcasts, the best of which succeed on the strength of the relationships between co-hosts - complete with running jokes, friendly bickering and so on. Here we have just one host - albeit often joined...Read full review »

A great podcast about the music and composers of Star Trek. Some great interviews and insight. To an outsider it seems that this could only appeal to Trek fans, but I think anyone interested in orchestral music or soundtracks would enjoy it.

I recently discovered Melodic Treks on the Trek.fm network. Brandon-Hea Mutala does an outstanding job pulling together episodes that explore a particular theme or series. The Jerry Goldsmith vs John Williams "Clash of the Titans" episode was just classically good. His recent Dogs of War podcast...Read full review »

Hi, just writing a quick line to thank Brandon for the amazing work he's done so far on Melodic Trek, my second favorite podcast on Trek.Fm. What is fun about this show is that the show gets into the history of each individual score, the episode that the music was scored for, and all the other odd assorted tid bits. Even stuff from bad episodes--I'm looking at you, "The Way To Eden" and "Spock's Brain" sounds very nice when the music...Read full review »

Terrific classical Star Trek music combined with a narrator with a soothing voice. I feel like I'm listening to my grandmother's favorite classical music station with Trek music. Great insight on the composers who help bring Star Trek characters to life. Keep it up!
