I was giving this podcast a try to see if I thought it provided sound advice and discussion on family issues with a strong Catholic base. After listening to the most recent topic of Teaching Kids To Respect Authority, I had to unsubscribe. The hosts spoke about using corporal punishment on toddlers and always siding with teachers even if they didn't agree with them. Both of these are detrimental to establishing a safe place for children in the home and creating a trusting bond between parent and child. Research has proven that children subjected to corporal punishment are more likely to develop maladaptive coping mechanisms in adulthood and do not teach children anything. Also, always siding with authority figures fosters a precedent that children's feelings and rights do not matter. I need to find a research based family show to help with improving and bettering my family's life.Read full review »
