Manages to pack like 3 hours of content into 15 episodes so far. And still going!

I have decided to stop listening to this podcast at episode 2 because it is packed out with unnecessary ramblings, leading questions and talking about his own life and how he will make it his life’s work to find this guy. Shame really as it seemed an interesting story. Google here I come.

I have listened to all three Missing Podcasts and this one is a little slow, but an interesting case and the reporting is excellent. That said, I’m going to take a break for a while because in the last episode they played several ads for Trump watches and I just can’t listen to Trumps voice. I...Read full review »

The “ambient sound” episode was just such an a***ole move I had to quit the podcast. It wasn’t clever; it was aggravatingly stupid. Up to this point, I was curious about the story and willing to put up with the janky, jerky journalism. It’s a good story, told poorly, and engineered badly.

Not sure why the host keeps dragging this story on. 15 episodes already that could have been condensed to 6, and who knows how many more episodes there are. Most of the content is speculative instead of actual “true crime.” Probably wouldn’t recommend this.

I’ve enjoyed listening to the podcast for its content but the host has to constantly toot his own horn. Every single episode he’s gotta explain how he’s connected or his mom or a friend. Or that he suffers from this or that. It’s like a part time therapy session and really off putting.

Ashley Flowers bashing? Sound so jealous.

There are some really great podcasts out there with great storytellers and amazing investigative journalists. This is not one of them. The host interjects often about himself and his opening remarks to Robert Fisher were just stupid and self aggrandizing. The ad to content ratio was also...Read full review »

I love the reporting in this podcast. Perfectly balanced five down deep into this fascinating case. My only complaint is the lengthy dis of Crime Junkie.

Approach a bit self indulgent Recommend missing in Alaska over this one Grateful for what I’ve learned but the quality of content to ad ratio is not excellent Still a fan of serialized mysteries that teach me something about psychology or politics or history Just wish there was a bit more...Read full review »

I listen to a lot of podcasts but this is the first time I've heard an ad for a political figure. It was an ad for Donald Trump watches . Why bring that in?Read full review »

Really? Perpetuating the idea that the 2020 election was rigged or “stolen” by Democrats is unbelievable. I feel this show lost any and all credibility it was clinging to. Boo! Shame!

I like the story. I’m really bothered by the AI narration which makes me sad. It makes it hard to even listen to. Please, please narrate it naturally.

Jon is a great journalist. My favorite project was Missing in Alaska. I call it a project because it’s a ton of work investigating, tracking down sources and witnesses, and then creating the story. Jon does it flawlessly!!! He puts the story together beautifully and keeps you on the edge of your...Read full review »

I wanted to like this podcast, but I tapped out after a few episodes. The cadence feels AI-like and it feels like the actual story gets lost in the narrator pontificating.

I’ve mostly enjoyed all seasons of this podcast, though by the end of each season, I find myself fatigued. I don’t remember if I even finished the first two. The stories are interesting enough and the reporting in-depth. But man, I feel like it can get kinda redundant. And the narrator’s cadence...Read full review »

Great story but the narrator has a weird AI-sounding voice with a strange cadence and the tangents and exploration of “theories” is honestly getting unhinged. I don’t think I can handle any more episodes.

This narration is terrible and so hard to listen to

I made it to episode 4. Specifically 5 minutes into episode 4. He spends those 5 minutes in making sure we know he’s better than anyone else. Everyone else who has ever told this story are filthy, selfish liars. He certainly doesn’t think he’s trying to profit off of anyone’s pain. ...Read full review »

Great podcast. Extremely well put together and comprehensive look at this case. Very good at sticking to facts, and although any theory’s that are presented are theory’s, they are fact and reason driven. Well done.

This may be my first podcast review ever. But I had to, just to comment on the season of Missing in Arizona. The case and podcast have good bones. But this podcast bends over backwards to exculpate the subject, and, to the extent the host believes Robert Fisher may have done it, he victim blames....Read full review »

The first two episodes were promising and than boy oh boy did we get waaaaayyy off track?! I believe it was the intro of the first episode where the host “threatens” Robert Fischer a la Liam Neeson style and than meander's so far away from actual investigative work and rams filler down the...Read full review »

I vividly remember the Robert Fisher murders and subsequent manhunt back in 2001. Like many others here in Arizona, I found it impossible to avoid the news coverage and it didn’t take long for the mystery of his disappearance to really capture my attention and imagination. While full of facts,...Read full review »

Content is ok, but narrator making it about himself has me dumping out. Silly, irrelevant asides.. host goes 1st person way too much and loses credibility quickly… sad when the story has good bones, but the host injecting himself in the story takes it backwards.
luvvagoodstory via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/03/24
I done well to get to episode 8 but I can’t do anymore. An interesting story told badly, I know more about the host than I do about the murders. And the adverts are to much.
Sarah4580 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 10/03/24
Good episodes when focusing on technical elements of story. Ep 9 analogies and political hyperbole are exhausting and taxing.
MF4691 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/03/24
Having multiple ads right at the start of each episode and then every ten minutes being bombarded with the exact same ads over and over throughout each episode, it’s just too much. I unsubscribed.

Meh
Star date 10/2/24. Last two episodes have been hot garbage. Too much talk on unknown variables. This week’s drop spent a lot of time on Kurt Cobain’s “suicide”. Suicide in quotes for a reason. Maybe Season 4 Walzac can do a deeper dive on those sketch suicide details.

This could be an interesting story but this is bad. Way too many commercials. The narration is horrible and if the asides were trying to be funny they miss the mark.

I was really enjoying this podcast until the narrator started slamming another popular podcast. Love a Crime Junkie take down. The writing is pretty embellished. But I appreciate the deep level of detail on a case I’ve never heard of. Great work.

A well-known unsolved mystery ruined by I Heart Radio’s use of a super crappy AI voice to narrate it. It’s rough. Also, why are there 4-5 minute ad breaks? Why all the nonsense pop culture framing references? The podcast gradually becomes unlistenable.

This case is very fascinating!! But this podcast is really hard to follow, lots of “I’ll explain that in a later episode..”..noooo I want to know now 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I’m giving up listening to the rest of it..it’s painful

The show is actually pretty good but I cannot get passed the narration or AI voice over, unsure what’s happening with it. It sounds so fake and computer generated. Seems like many other have the same reaction! Sorry content and research are five stars but delivery and production are 1 star.

The story is an interesting one, but the narrator drags it out adding far too many details that are not important to the story.
