Good intentions, poor execution
Seemed to me they started with good intentions, but were in way over their heads and now stumble aimlessly. At times, it sounds like an honest attempt to find the truths of the case; others, it's just one more forum to vent every crazy (and sometimes offensive/irresponsible) theory. The insistent comments against the Murray family is what made me stop listening. To say things like, "the only reason this family member would do this is (insert something nefarious here)", is unimaginative at best. For instance, I can think of a lot of reasons why the father wouldn't want anything to do with a given reporter or a hoard of Internet sleuths. It's an interesting case, which along with a couple (meaning exactly two) of sensible guests made it worth listening to a handful of episodes, but to give it another chance, it would take the co-hosts regrouping and outlining a clear strategy or purpose, and applying the same level of skepticism they have towards the Murrays to whatever Renner (or anyone else) says.Read full review »
