The cases might be interesting but I wouldn't know because the speaker is way too boring. Might be ok if I'm trying to fall asleep to a monotone voice that has no personal touch at all. I think she is just reading a script.Read full review »

She goes into some dark cases, definitely a good serious podcast with lots of detail and research

I swear, sometimes the host will repeat a sentence (or even two-three) *verbatim*. One after the other. No idea why. The cases covered are great, but are longer than they need to be. And as has been mentioned, the transitions to add are jarring and off-putting.

Top 5 true crime podcasts with great writing and one of the most professionally produced That being said there are some lengthy pauses at random times that I find kinda humorous!

Morbid was recommended to me when I searched true crime, but it wasn’t my speed. Morbidology was beside it so I figured why not. As it turns out, this podcast is actually exactly what I’ve been looking for. The host tells the story and gets right to it. There’s no disrespectful side banter and...Read full review »

I find the delivery of some of these cases by the host extremely odd. I just listened to the episode about the horrific case of Sebastian Kalinowsky and the host delivers the brutal details in such a cold dispassionate manner it’s almost disturbing. This along with continuous malapropism,...Read full review »

I love your pod cast, it is interesting. I listen to it every time I go on my walks. Thank you ♥️

Emily just has a great voice to listen to crime stories to. I enjoy how she always has real unties when possible. I also love how she refers to the victim on a first name basis but doesn’t give the perpetrator that dignity and uses last names when talking about them. Very nice to listen to.
RogerReptile via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/01/24
I love that this podcast focuses on the victims and their family. The story is told clearly and without bias. The host speaks in a neutral tone which is respectful for not just the victim but also for the family of the perpetrator.

Absolutely unbearable accent that sounds completely fake. It’s off and on and so hard to listen to. I really wanted to listen to one of the stories and couldn’t finish it bc of the podcasters accent changing off and on.

I have been a long time listener but the sheer amount of ads being smashed into each new episode has made me stop. I’ve unfollowed. It was great while it lasted.

I really enjoy listening. I do wish the pauses weren’t so long. I always think my phone turned off. Won’t make me stop listening, just a bit unnatural and strange.

Good Podcast, stories told well but recently WAY too many ads 😩
sazzle006 via Apple Podcasts · United Arab Emirates · 05/21/24
I do enjoy the stories, the narrator is good. But my god so many adverts. Five times in under an hour, and often the same ones. I appreciate they bring revenue, but I’ve taken to just fast forwarding, it’s getting really annoying. Edited 13/5/24. I have unfollowed. The Sydney Powell episode was...Read full review »

Great podcast if there was so many ads.

I truly enjoy the fact that Emily covers not only US cases, but cases abroad. A lot of True Crime podcasts cover the same cases over and over, each with a different spin. But I’ve learned about cases that I’d never heard of before. In addition, I’ve found it to be very respectful that Emily adds...Read full review »

I like this true crime podcast because she states facts. She’s not over embellishing with her thoughts, dragging the podcast on.

I really like this podcast! There’s so many crappy podcasts out there. This is one of the few that I actually listen to, and I like both the cases and the storytelling. I enjoy the fact that many of the stories are creepy and thought-provoking. Definitely one of my top five and worth a listen...Read full review »

Every time I hear the intro music it sounds like a 1980s p0rn soundtrack like the kind that you would get in one of the motels on airline highway (where often the old-school TV preachers used to “hang out”).

Please, no more. Make it stop! The mechanical story teller is so bad… bring in a real human… thank you

This is the best executed true crime podcast in my opinion. Incredibly well written, I enjoy the formula, and the way sound recordings (interviews, court proceedings, from the crime scene etc) are used to contribute to and direct the narrative. I’m bingeing every episode atm. Highly recommend!

I know Emily contributes to They Walk Among Us and she is a great writer and prolific storyteller. I know she’s from Northern Ireland and I’m familiar with the accent, but there’s something off about her cadence and the rhythmic pauses in her narration that go beyond a lilt and simply become...Read full review »

Been listening to this pod cast for a while now , but recently the amount of ads per episode is getting ridiculous 3 ads in a 45 min podcast!! , plus there literally rubbish product ads that this podcast host is peddling. Shame used to be a a decent podcast .

I tried several episodes and couldn’t finish 4 of the 5. This pod covers A LOT of cases involving children so if that bothers you, this isn’t for you. Surprisingly, the monotone voice and unique cadence that others have mentioned don’t bother me, but I have to agree about the poor ad placement....Read full review »

I really enjoy this show but having listened to the recent episode, there was 9 minutes of ads 15 minutes in. It’s ridiculous and completely ruins the experience.

Morbidology is my go-to True Crime podcast. Episodes are well researched, interesting and told with empathy and care. Thanks for such thoughtful content.

Emily is an excellent storyteller and her beautiful Irish accent is an added bonus. I like how she often puts a clip from the trial or 911 call etc. at the beginning of the episode. I’m so glad I found this show.

The voice is like listening to a robot that thinks it’s a person. The writing is decent but it would be much better read by a human being.

Appreciate your hard work and the pieced in clips!! Love the longer, detailed episodes. Really helps me get through the work day! And if you can’t understand her accent, it is 100% a you problem. She speaks very clearly and at a good pace. Keep up the great work👍🏽

I feel like I’m being read to be AI. Her voice is so monotone. Interesting stories—maybe it would help if she expresses emotion?? I don’t know.

I’ve given this podcast so many chances but I just can’t anymore. I love the cases covered but the hosts voice and way of speaking is just terrible! She pauses in all the wrong places and mispronounces so many words it’s laughable. Please please please get a better host (reader)!

What’s with the low stars because folks can’t place the host’s accent? A suuuuper simple Google search shows she is from Northern Ireland. The episode I tried to listen to today was way too graphic describing the details of the abuse and torture of a child. Unnecessarily so. I have enjoyed bingeing since I discovered the podcast but please don’t rip my heart out.
