“I've been listening to this podcast for a while but finally decided to review!
While I definitly do not agree with Jess and Andrew on all of their opinions (Hedwig is perfect, excuse you) I still really enjoy hearing their thoughts. I love musicals but I do admit that theater people can be... pretentious. Musicals with Cheese does not particiopate in the same type of gatekeeping that can come up in other musical theater circles. (You don't need to know the entire history of every broadway composer, every rivialry between producers, or the outcome of every Tony Awards season to enjoy this podcast.) That is not to say that the hosts are unintelligent-- just that the discussion is interesting and sometimes even very deep while remaining accessable to newer or casual theater fans.
If you're looking for a podcast that studies music theory or deep metophorical symbolism then this show probably isn't for you, but if you're looking for a fun chat about your favorite shows (or even shows you've never heard of) then this is a great fit :)”Read full review »
