I've listened to 3 of these - a decent interval between each in the belief there might be some improvement, but no. A bunch of people whose knowledge of the musicals they talk (or shout) about is generally less than zero ("Wait, there's a movie? Let's talk about that...Read full review »

This show is absolutely incredible, I look forward to it every week and I really like this Jesse guy. He’s got a super cute voice and I love hearing him.

This Podcast is excellent, and 95% of the time manages to perfectly express what is good (and what isn’t) about the show being covered. An especially good example is The Music Man (2022) episode, with spot on opinions about the changes made, and the casting decisions. While I obviously don’t...Read full review »

Because it's my favorite cheese! The podcast is a ton of fun, with great conversations and strong-but-open-to-change opinions. In a recent episode, they even discussed how good a musical is, even if it's not for them. I was impressed. Too often people declare that anything not for them is...Read full review »

The DEH episode was offensive. If you’re not autistic, maybe don’t criticize those on the spectrum for identifying with a character in a musical? You don’t get to tell autistic kids or depressed kids that they’re stupid for liking a show just because you didn’t get it. Not everything’s about you.

I did not think the previous awful review would be read on a podcast. Honestly, I am impressed. No things changed. The show is still great. Look forward to seeing what comes next.

Is just atrocious. Why bother covering a show you don’t like if you’re just going to bash it the entire time? If some of the commentary was more objective it might have at least been an entertaining listen.

Seriously, where’s the fan animation for this podcast? I really love the dynamic of the hosts and the episode structure. I’d rate it pepper jack. It’s weird and it’s got little bits in it, but its sooo good

I really enjoy all the episodes, totally loved the High School Musical episodes, too, but I have a big note about the Bye Bye Birdie episode- they keep correcting themselves to say that Rita Moreno was in the original, not Chita Rivera, but it definitely was Chita and not Rita (cue the Forbidden...Read full review »

A great musical podcast, brought by very knowledgeable hosts & with a lot of humor. 10/10 would recommend :-)

This is the only musical podcast I listen to. It’s equal parts caring and irreverent in a way that makes it very approachable to people like me who love the idea of musical theater but mostly just listen to the same cast albums from their childhood with very little being added to the rotation....Read full review »

I really enjoyed listening to a handful of episodes during my commute. However, upon listening to the Anastasia episode I was disappointed to hear you refer to The Nostalgia Critic/Doug Walker as “my man” - yikes - and had to detract a star. We all make mistakes, though, so looking forward to...Read full review »

This is my current favourite podcast on musicals. I find it an enjoyable listen. Please keep the Breviews or LetterVox section though?

The rapport between the hosts is nice and feels genuine! But I simply can not get past the aggravating lack of research. Let me use the last episode I listened to as an example: Bat Boy. They start off by recounting the plot with multiple errors (ie. Dr. Parker doesn't reveal Bat Boy's...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to Musicals with Cheese for around a year now, and I love it!!! For a while I thought this podcast was great, but the more I listen the more I get annoyed with Jesse. He is overbearing & cringey. Also, the content doesn’t even actually cover regular musicals, it’s a bunch of side content I didn’t sign up for. Nobody follows this podcast for “make me a...Read full review »

I started watching this because I wanted to listen to reviews of bad musicals (for fun) and discover new good ones. On that, this show delivers. There are plenty of musicals here that I’ve never heard of and will be looking into as a result. However, after a couple months you start hearing the...Read full review »

This podcast, which fans of musical theatre will love, has always had a really great variety in the shows it covers. It’s not just the big hits, but there’s a good helping of some lesser known shows. They’ve introduced me to several I’d not heard of before! It’s hard not to laugh along with the...Read full review »

Maybe don’t review a musical that you don’t care for, of a tv show you absolutely hate without having not watch it. I couldn’t handle the misogyny of the two guys.
Newsfromny via Apple Podcasts · Spain · 04/19/22
The hosts spend the majority of their time tearing apart a relatively harmless show, then contradicting their own opinions (criticising it for not changing the plot, then criticising it for changing things unnecessarily). They read positive reviews in a condecending way before writing them off as...Read full review »

I haven’t seen the musical Diana, so I don't take issue with the hosts’ opinion about that. Rather, I take issue with the lack of historical research and belittling of mental health. Within the first half of that episode, they show a severe lack of research about recent English royal history....Read full review »

I thought I knew a lot about musicals until I started listening to this! Great information and I’ve genuinely scream-laughed a few times at the jokes, my neighbors must think I’m crazy. I really appreciate that they talk about a lot of lesser known musicals, and the guests they have on are a blast (I particularly like their episode in which they reevaluate Rent, with Kelly Lin Hayes).

Two straight dudes talking about musicals. Jesse mispronounces most things and sings flatly on every episode; Andrew doesn’t pay attention to what he’s supposed to watch/listen to, and ends up basically saying “I don’t remember that part” or “it was okay”. Bro: take some notes. You bring the...Read full review »

First, positive, I like listening to the podcast, it’s entraining and fun, and who doesn’t like when people are yelling at a show they don’t enjoy haha. I love this idea it’s well informed but in the episode I was listening to “urinetown” someone was eating and talking with their mouth full. I found this podcast over the Thanksgiving holiday and can’t stop listening! This show has definitely grown from its early days when it was merely a five-star podcast to what is now a 5+++-star podcast! (Quick note: “I’m Still Here” was written for Yvonne de Carlo who was 50 at the time.)
