Great format, accept the blindspots
Great format, dipping into some really interesting topics in history linked to current events. Carries off the trick of getting about the right level of time on each topic without losing the audience. A blindspot is showing with the historical comparatives to President Obama's moves with those comparatives being consistently positive. Even I, with less knowledge of American history, can see that there are some less favourable historical lessons that could have been mixed in for balance. So Obama's release of torture memo's is "presidential" and draws on Lincoln and Wilson. No consideration of the national security implications where the precedents for diluting the operational effectiveness of the intelligence and security services are perhaps less glowing.
