I adore this podcast. I know I’m late to the game, but it is timeless & Justin’s manner is so calming, funny & entertaining. This podcast literally lowers my BP! & I learned a lot, so far! I’m only to 1980. I hope Justin undergoes another giant endeavor like this one bc I will miss...Read full review »

This podcast gets better and better. I love Justin’s style and voice, and his appreciation and knowledge of a subject I thought I knew about but apparently did not! This is such a sweet experience.

I just started listening to this podcast a week or so ago and that is why I said I am late to the “Parton”. I have always been a fan of Dolly as a performer and as a woman and as a role model but I will admit I never listened to her music a lot. I just knew the big songs; and yes I knew she...Read full review »

Such a fun podcast! Plus the subject matter is perfect. Just read “Run Rose Run” with James Paterson. Excellent read! Reminded me of Dolly’s life, I think. Not sure if this is so I or not. I could do see her doing a movie like this as the person narrating her life.

I love Dolly, so I jumped in without noticing that the episodes are short. The trouble with short episodes on Wondery is the staggering number of ads. They squeeze the same number into a short show as a long show. Nope, not paying for a subscription, and not wasting brain cells constantly...Read full review »

I’m a total fan of this podcast I’m in my mid 50’s and a African American woman who grew up in the time when tv went off at midnight. So on Saturday I watched a lot of Hee Haw and the Grand Ole Opera so I know a lot of Country Music and I love Dolly and old country music, thing is country music...Read full review »

I stayed listening to this amazing podcast and am loving each episode. The reason being is that it discusses the world of Dolly, but isn’t just a “fan knowledge” cast. It really is interesting to hear about her journey, her intelligence and her heart. Which all come through her work!

I’ve been binging this series for a couple of weeks and I’m loving it! Justin’s love for Dolly shines through and the format of each show works really well. Podcasts have been a godsend for my anxiety since losing my beautiful mum. She loved Dolly and each Christmas thrashed Kenny and Dolly. So...Read full review »

I feel like I’m sitting in a warm cafe with a friend sipping a spiked coffee and discussing my favorite person. Justin is a joy, like his fellow Tennesseean Dolly, and his podcast makes me happy.

I feel like I’m talking with a friend about something I love. Justin let’s his hometown experience transcend to a wide audience who all care about Dolly. Listen on your ride home, when doing the dishes, or on a walk. This has only made my appreciation for podcast and Dolly grow.

Just finishing my binge of Justin’s year with Dolly, and I feel like we’re old friends, hanging at the kitchen table with a beer, chitchatting about a lady we both admire and love. The episode with his Dad is so special - heartfelt and genuine. Thanks for taking me along on your journey 💗

Justin’s topic is Dolly. What’s not to like? A whole year with Dolly . Amazing. I found him late in the game but I’m binging as fast as I can. Everything about the podcast is perfect. Except Justin. But even his imperfections are endearing and you feel like you are chatting with a dear friend...Read full review »

I found Justin’s Brooklyn mountain home late and yet perfect time. His warmth toward Dolly and us is like hot cider. Good till the last drop and don’t forget the whip cream on top. I’ve so enjoyed Jason’s narration of Dolly’s life. I look forward to each weeks edition. I’m watching Dolly’s life on Netflix which is very good but not quite as good or detailed as Jason’s review.

I went to high school with Justin and he made me so many themed mix CDs. We would go on drives and listen to them and he would tell me about the songs and what they meant to him. Justin does a great job of diving into Dolly - I love the segments he does and each asleep t of her life. At best I’ve been a casual fan of Dolly’s but after listening to Justin on Deck The Hallmark podcast, I knew this would be great. It does not disappoint. I’ve learned a lot and this morning was brought to tears listening to the discussion about Coat of Many Colors. Give it a listen - you’ll love it.

I thought I knew who Dolly Parton is - iconic voice, big hair, country charm - what more is there to know? Well, I’m only three episode in and I’ve already learned so much! And it’s nice to have someone from her area filling me in - kind of like having a private tour guide.
