Needs to Pick an Audience
The is a well-produced show with a lot of good information in it. Be aware that it is not really “science news” as most people think of it. Because it is a survey of the week’s issue of Nature, it only covers publication in that journal. Science is not a fast process, so the results of that space mission you heard about last week may not be on this podcast until next year. However, with this podcast, you do you that what you are getting is REAL science. That said, the producers of this show need to figure out their audience. One minute they are explaining a topic in simple, easy-to-understand terms, while the next segment may have words in it some scientists hive never heard. Hopefully they will settle down to a medium level for the science-interested. If they can to that, this will be a solid podcast.

Chris Smith is also the host of the 13 British Counties show, The Naked Scientists, both shows strip the mystery from the science and explains it in terms that is clear and concise to non-scientific audiences. Good show!
