…the host tried to be woke and went into a whole race deep dive. Just tell the story as it is. We don’t need a host making assumptions for criminal behavior, especially when it comes to pulling a race card. It got way too political and dragged on like that-lost interest but did finish it with no...Read full review »

I live in SC and I don’t think I have ever heard about this story prior to listening to Noble. This podcast is absolutely 🔥… absolutely in my top 5 of best ever. Well written, appropriately placed dark humor. Well done!

I was captivated early. I worked for a Cemetery in college and I remember the head groundskeeper saying things like, “You can’t get behind. People keep dying and need to be buried.” He said stuff like that as a joke when someone would ask him to do something extra or when he was struggling to...Read full review »

This was done with so much compassion and empathy. I was intrigued by the story and then I cared about the people. This isn’t a story about “getting someone” this is a story about humanity and people, and sometimes life gets to be overwhelming and too much! Shaun is an amazing host and I will...Read full review »

This is one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. Absolutely great writing and so respectful to both parties.

I remember when this first happened, and my curiosity was piqued, wondering if I’d ever hear how it came out. This went a long way toward assuaging my questions. Not completely, but as nearly as we’re likely ever to know.

I can see this being made into a movie. I will continue listening to the other stories from this podcast.

I binged the entire show while at work in one day and was so caught up that I missed my clock out time! Fascinating to listen to and great journalism

I think this topic is very interesting and for the most part, the reporter did a great job. There were a few fatal flaws to the show that I found to be irrevocable. The dehumanizing of the black family in the show really bothered me. When you’re talking about race and history of slavery, you have...Read full review »

It could’ve been a five star review podcast, but in episode seven the author implies we will get answers as to why this crime occurred. However, an episode we find that is just the authors supposition. Disappointing.

Interesting, and, I think, fairly told. Lots of great firsthand information from those directly involved. Well paced and honestly told without being gruesome just to sensationalize things.

Excellently investigated, told, and produced.

It was good, but we didn’t need all the little details over and over. No one cares about unwrapped Hershey kisses. Just tell the story if the case.

I have mixed feelings about you pursuing the offender, I believe the families have a right to an apology and an explanation, but do we? This is how you make a living, you are not chasing the truth because you are altruistic. Whilst I agree that investigations need to take place into abuse,...Read full review »

The podcast was amazing until talking about race and slavery. So he gets an out because he’s black?? Why go into the background of slavery? It has nothing to do with present day. All of that was just unnecessary.

If you are looking for something that will shock you and have you wanting to binge listen… this IS IT! Thank you for highlighting the potential difference between negligence and greed and desperation and humanity. I thought this podcast was amazing. The host/journalist did a great job at telling the whole story and helping listeners to understand just how complicated humans (and their wrongdoings) really are. Thank you for telling this story in such a solid way.

So glad this story is finally being told, and told well. The families involved need to be able to grieve and to do that, they need as much closure as they can get. Well produced with great mix of incredible scripting and interviews that leave you holding on to every word. Well done team.

This was a great thought-provoking listen. The storytelling was encapsulating while not feeling salacious or disrespectful. The reporters treated the people involved — both dead and alive — with dignity and empathy in their search for truth. Highly recommend.

This podcast was very well done. I feel bad for the families, but I also feel bad for Brent. This is not an isolated occurrence, unfortunately. Look up Hites Mortuary in Henderson NV. Well done, but yet again they are using race and slavery to justify or explain bad acts. It’s a tired tactic, and offensive to me as a black woman honestly. Context matters, but the idea that black people can do no wrong or should be excused for their crimes because, slavery, is preposterous. We...Read full review »

Podcast was great but a little lengthy, appreciated finding out more about this story. However, when Shaun brings out the race card it took a whole other unnecessary turn. I think this show did a good job as showing sympathy to the perpetrator.
