“I'm a New Yorker living in Europe without a TV, so I depend on good net content to stay up to date with the riveting saga that is the 21st century news landscape. To me, shows like KCRW's On Point and WNYC's On the Media set the bar as far as journalistic quality and thoughtful debate go. I’ve got to say I have been disappointed with the Times' Op-Ed podcast. I find the pieces are not read well, and the articles themselves seem less interesting as a result. It's as if the reader (someone named Mark Moran, I believe) hasn't got the right feel for the story. Sometimes he just plain sounds like he’s introducing a late night TV host, or selling toothpaste, and your mind can’t help but wander. I think that the reporters and contributors should just read their own pieces. It'd be kind of fun to hear, for example, Thomas Friedman read his latest analysis of world affairs. People who write stuff know how to read it.”Read full review »

“While the OP-Ed content is sure to arouse one's curiousity, I, for one, am tired of hearing those premium services adverts. You'd expect one whom listens to pod-cast to also know how to find the NYTimes Web address, sans not-so-subtle audio clues. Drop the ads!”Read full review »

“This podcast is not updated very frequently - less than once a week. All the op-eds are read by professional readers who have very whiny voices and sound like they are reading to a class of first-graders. Why can't the authors read their own peices? Why can't we get more frequent updates?”Read full review »
