As usual, excellent episode! I feel the way you do…Tony had true remorse…rare with psychopaths.. I feel 15 years is light…but like you said, he already did 15, and I agree the next 15 may be easier for him. This was a rare case of guilt and remorse, for sure! Thanks so much!

Very well researched!

Like I said I rated this as one of the best true crime podcasts, unfortunately, lately it seems it’s just 911 phone calls with some sparse commentary from Justin. It seems lazy not much research required for episodes like this . I was hoping this might be just 1 or 2 episodes but it seems to be...Read full review »

It would be a better show if we didn’t have to hear this guys feelings and beliefs. Stick to the facts. I’d love to be a Patreon subscriber but im not paying to hear this guys 2 cents 🤷🏻‍♀️

Great, straightforward storytelling generally with a dark twist- no host banter and hands down the best/most relaxing male voice streaming on Apple

Overall I like this Podcast but if you could maybe never do another one like the Winter Park Wedding one that would be great. 95% of the show was a bunch of people screaming at the same time. Chaotic and hard to listen to.

Great show. Not a fan of the sound of the wood fire in the background.
Gatacinco via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/29/24
Really enjoying your stories! I am definitely a fan of the longer stories...you are really a talented storyteller... my new go to💕 Such a sad story, there are no words, the only solace is she is at peace.. RIP sweet child

Really like the show but would like to know why episodes continue to repeat. When notified of a new episode, I select to listen only to find that the episode is one that I have listened to before.

The best true crime podcast out there. Are you sick of nattering true crime podcast duos and never ending virtue-signalling that screams fake apologism for the reality of our dark voyeurism? Look no further. Justin is your man. He gets straight to the point, doesn’t shove his personal or...Read full review »

Truly one of my favorite, one of the best true crime podcasts out there covering story’s you’ve likely never heard . And black label for us sick in the head : absolutely love
abradley14 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/05/24
Used to be very good. Now he just replays 911 calls or recordings the whole episode. Very lazy work
Fckyeangga via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/12/23
I enjoy your stories but it took a few episodes until I got used to your genre of storytelling. I listened to almost all of them. Then there were subscription episodes available and then a second part. Now with all the sometimes getting a subscription episode and then not being able to find the...Read full review »

I have been a listener since the beginning and love your show. Justin, you seem like a really good guy and compassionate person and salute you. The cases you research and offer your listeners are so intriguing to me (I’ll go on a limb and say the vast majority of your audience from the beginning)...Read full review »

Fantastic work on the Green River Killer series! Obscura is such an amazing podcast 💯💪💪

The best podcast covering Gary Ridgeway I have come across. And I’ve listened to quite a few.
SaxonPompey via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 08/09/23
Taking back my positive review. The 1 good episode was an anomaly and it’s back to the dumb Batman voice. Boo

I’ve been listening to Obscura since the beginning.

I really love this podcast, love that deep, dark voice, the campfire sound, Justin tells the cases with emotion and respect, love it🤩 Sjak Aardema

Justin, who hat happened to your voice? Am I insane? I can’t deal with the change!
Keri.79 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 07/03/23
You gave a decent story line during the podcast however, I am not a fan of your voice. Are you trying to sound like Batman or something? It was so hard to listen to, I’m sorry.

I appreciate your comments on potential impact of marijuana and video on our lives. It took courage to put yourself out to there and share your thoughts and recommendations. This is the first time I listened to your show and now I am fan.
Sh2395 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/03/23
I thoroughly enjoyed the accelerant episode, ONLY for the ending. It was a nice change of pace and honestly made me feel more connected to you, the host, rather than just the content you cover. As an avid marijuana smoker and video game player, I took your hot take and stewed on it. Rather than...Read full review »

I would definitely find the deep dark web content. I dig the evolution of hearing your research into those not so popular rabbit holes

Dude. I’ve loved this podcast for ages. I don’t wanna hear about your beef with other podcasters as PART of a story. So frustrating.

Mike Boudet is the best!

I love your podcast and was a patron until your cadence changed. Why are you taking so fast? I am able to listen by slowing it down to 75%.

My only disappointment is the subscription solicitation. I appreciate every minute you put into studying and writing your stories and am thankful to still have some to listen to. Thank you for your hard work.
Luna Loper via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/29/23
I genuinely appreciate the vibe you’ve been aiming for with this podcast, but your normal voice is 1,000x better than the painfully dumb voice you use for the show. It frankly obliterates the listener’s will to stick with the story, and dilutes the interesting content to the point of being...Read full review »

Bless her for speaking her story. I absolutely loved The Mists of Avalon in my youth (I’m 60 now) and was horrified to learn the author was a monster. I don’t separate art from the artist. I apologize for all the money I gave her - hoping Moira gets it now and she finds peace.

Love listening to the terrible details, told in such a compassionate way

There actual factual, entertaining, enjoyable podcasts that are less than half of your monthly fee. $9.99???? Wondery is only $5 for Pete’s sake, for a good number of actual good pods. Sorry, but be warned, The pod is definitely not worth the money. EDIT: They lowered the monthly fee to $7.99….....Read full review »

This podcast was recommended to me by a coworker today. I have been looking for a new podcast and it’s not easy to keep my attention. I was instantly hooked! I am now binging it on Patreon. Well done!👏👏👏 Love Love Love it!

I’ve subscribed twice only to get redone old episodes I’ve already heard. Maybe the host has too much on his plate these days, I’m always disappointed with the amount of content.
Sugiwench via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/04/23
The rapid and weirdly cadenced speech is very off-putting. You have to wonder what the glowing reviews are comparing him to? This is a hack job, nothing more—no way will I subscribe.

I really enjoyed the podcast until it became a subscription only. Good luck with everything.

I really love Justin’s voice, and how he really dives deep into each story. The earlier episodes are particularly painful to listen to. Most notably being the really strange repetition and enunciation of certain words, particularly names. But he has come into his own in the later episodes....Read full review »
