“It took a couple of times hearing their little ad on The Skeptic Zone before I took a listen and I am SO glad I did. They are they kinds of skeptics that we need. They're respecful and open to new ideas. They are the kind of skeptic that would make Joe Nickel happy. The two part Mormon investigation was impressive and surprising. There was a lot of pathos in these two episodes and it reminded me that there are human beings attached to this weird belief system. They treat the subject of their inquiries with respect and humor, but they don't hold back. They do not pitch people slow balls by any means. They are honest and display integrity. This is now one of my favorite podcasts of all time. A hidden gem! I hope they keep it up.
My only complaint is their acupuncture episode showed they perhaps didn't realize just how shoddy the positive studies are, and that when you improve the study controls the results also move towards the negative.
I wonder if I might suggest something. That as a part of their investigation they interview someone with a lot of experience in the field they are investigating after they go through the field investigation. Go in blind about it to not color their opinions of the experience. Then maybe play that interview as a part of the show. A ten minute chat with someone who can tell them about acupuncture studies, like Dr. Mark Crislip, would be great to talk to before talking about acupuncture studies, or maybe Steven Novella to help them with hypnotism.”Read full review »

They investigate some pretty far-out claims and belief systems without belittling or insulting their subjects, just maybe their outlandish ideas sometimes. For new listeners, be sure you check...”Read full review »

“This podcast has very quickly shot to the top of my favourites. Just going through the archives now, and was surprised at how moved and emotionally involved I became with the Mormon story and R&C's relationship with the poor long-suffering missionaries!
Insightful, quirky and never...”Read full review »
