Southern Gothic At Its Finest
Having been born and raised in The South, I am always on the lookout for media that does the land and the people right, and this definitely fills the bill. The overall story is well-crafted and spooky, at times deeply disturbing. Steve Shell has a friendly and soothing voice that draws you in, and then fills you with dread as he speaks of the events that unfold in Barlow County. I love a good creepy horror podcast and this one exceeded my expectations. The fact that it is set in Appalachia is a bonus. Honestly my favorite podcast to date!
