They come at some well trod podcast topics from interesting angles and add new information I hadn’t heard before AND cover topics I’ve never heard discussed. I got here via that Sight and Sound episode recommended on the Blank Check subreddit. I bounced around through some other topics I was...Read full review »

I am a tween jeopardy fanatic that came to this through looking up Ken Jennings on podcasts. Good podcast and will be good for SYSK lovers and haters alike.

Add it to your list. Right now.

I never miss an episode. These 2 raconteurs can stretch a yarn out for my entire commute Edit: John purposely mispronounces anything he can. Don’t be mad, it’s a bit, and when you know that it becomes funny

I stopped listening to SYSK because I kept hearing incorrect information. The Omnibus guys get it right more often. And their topics are more interesting.

Began April 1, 1963. Just learned this from Luke and Laura on general hospital episode. That was my sixth birthday being born on April 1, 1957! During the summertime growing up during the sixties and seventies I would watch both one life to live and next would be general hospital. It took no time...Read full review »

I found this through the late Friendly Fire podcast, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. The banter between John and Ken are great and I never feel like there is never a dull moment. I learn a lot of trivia as well. Their Patreon is also really great and I love the addendum episodes.

There are so many reasons to like this podcast, but I think the best one is the eclectic soup of the whole thing. During the duration of each episode I feel like I've been on a journey, not only to some real and fantastic place and/or event, but also into the inner-workings of the minds of...Read full review »

Both are engaging speakers and have great personalities, but they tend to go down leftist rants.

I love to listen to this show when I’m having a less-than-stellar day. These guys make me laugh and teach me about all kinds of fascinating stuff that I would otherwise probably never encounter. No matter how much of a funk I’m in, I always feel better after I listen to this podcast!

I just learned that John is an alien because he thinks that Michael Richards played Kramer on Friends. (That racist jerk was on Seinfeld, silly)!

This has fast become my favorite podcast as someone who loves learning about random things. Ken and John are both knowledgeable, personable hosts seeming to speak off the cuff regarding very interesting, lesser known topics. They'll go on tangents and sound like nerds, but they're always...Read full review »

I really enjoy these guys. They have a great chemistry together which has proven to be my absolute favorite podcast to listen to when I just need something to think about that doesn’t hit the panic button. My amygdala appreciates the chance to chill out and still learn something!

• I snort-laughed 4 times during this episode. • I also learned the names of 2 great, but fictional demons (improvised, believe).👺👹 • I ALSO also learned the name of a fictional, elderly (but accomplished), blind blues player. • I even learned that America’s great, festering cultural divide is...Read full review »

This is one of my favorite podcasts. They cover so many interesting things and have introduced me to topics I wouldn’t have otherwise known about. In one episode you can have Queen lyrics referenced, get a Simpsons quote, and get a history lesson, all while laughing!

Insightful, informative and often humorous conversations with interesting topics covered. Well done. I’m glad I accidentally discovered this podcast.

Wonderful podcast. Two great, smart guys and funny intelligent conversation. I love listening while out walking my dog or cooking dinner. No matter the topic it’s a fun listen. Thanks Ken and John!

Is there no script, or are these guys intentionally stumbling over words, interrupting one another, hesitating, and repeating themselves? Given their breadth of knowledge, it’s disappointing that the delivery is so unprofessional.

Listening to Ken and John help me fill every nook and cranny of my brain with random info. My mental hoarding tendencies are rewarded and my ability to start every sentence with the phrase “Did you know?” has greatly increased. Great Work y’all.

Snippets of history and wacky instances of humanity. I miss the Friendly Fire war movie podcast J Rod used to be a part of, and this scratches that itch. The chemistry between Ken and John is great!

It is such a pleasure to listen to two intelligent, clever guys, with large vocabularies, discuss all manner of topics. (No offense to the boys at Ice Cream Social). Every show is packed with information on all menner of topics and laughs. Keep it up Ken and John!

I enjoy this podcast in general but the episode on the Port Chicago Disaster was outstanding. First in choosing an episode I’ve never heard of and second in weaving together all of the contextual racism surrounding it.

This is, by far, my favorite podcast. The range and depth of topics, the wittiness of the hosts, the laid-back conversation all contribute to an enjoyable hour or so twice a week. If you like the trivial, the obscure, the fascinating, the quirky, you will find no better destination for your ears.
