Tooze is great as ever but the format could be improved. At its best the podcast allows Tooze do perform his now customary wizardry in illuminating and connecting wold historical trends and processes. At times however it can verge on the awkward as the host, very much an every day man foil...Read full review »

I listen to lots of finance / ecomics podcasts and this has become an absolute must listen show: always interesting, always topical, always delivered in an unbiased easy to grasp way. It just works! Enjoy!

I’ve never reviewed a podcast — except maybe one of my own ;) — but this is a comet through smog. Thanks to Adam and Cameron for this scintillation.

Yet another reason to look forward to Fridays as that’s when this podcast comes out. Adam is brilliant and Cameron asks all the right questions. We’ll done!!

Recent episode on Fed Jackson Hole meeting and teacher pay reflects the best and worst of the podcast. Wonderful explanation of how the Fed meeting at Jackson Hole originated and how it became so important. Wonderful, insightful discussion that you cannot find elsewhere. Pretty poor...Read full review »

I read and thoroughly enjoyed Tooze’s “Wages of Destruction.” I was pleased to see he had a weekly podcast and it is one a highlight every week.

If you feel intellectually superior parroting this narrative, this is a podcast for you. If, however, you prefer independent thought, pass on it. Keynesian economics all the way through.

Tooze is that rare thinker who can see the forest and the trees

What a pleasure to listen to this super interesting podcast. I am so glad You are here!

This is an intriguing podcast. In some ways it is utterly conventional and deeply America-centric in its framing of issues. Yet at the same time it can be deeply historicist, nuanced in the best inter-disciplinary intellectual tradition and at times deeply, marvellously comparative! This...Read full review »

Incredible analysis of why & how the economical systems and behaviors have brought us to this point and where we are heading next to survive! Please keep up the great topics and coverage! I listen to podcasts for what I can learn from them. Minute for minute, I learn more from Ones and Tooze about how the world works than from any other podcast on my lengthy list.

Adam Tooze provides valuable insight as ever. The podcast is let down by having a co-host/foil to Tooze who is of middling intelligence. Replace Cam with someone insightful or who speaks less.

There are many great things about this show, but what I enjoy the most is that it brings nuance to frequently over simplified topics. Their podcasts on sanctions have especially given me a lot of food for thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed Adam’s diatribe about the incoherence of the Brexit project and the fundamental non-seriousness of those who advanced it. I first encountered him on the “Talking Politics” podcast (which is also excellent), and found him so insightful that I was delighted to hear that he had...Read full review »

The range of topics covered, the rapport between the hosts, and Adam’s clear explanations make this podcast quite enjoyable!! It strikes a great balance between serious economics discussion and light hearted podcast discussion.

It’s not easy to find a podcast that is clear & concise about complex economic news. Adam seems to have an answer for everything; I’m glad Cameron is there to bring it all forward. Keep up the good work guys!

Abadi is a deft interviewer, and Tooze, as always, is superlative.

Adam as an expert on everything works only some of the time - it would make more interesting to make it twos and threes every now and then. Also, please take some voice lessons - the length of a sentence should match one’s lung capacity - otherwise the delivery weakens with the declining oxygen...Read full review »

I’m always amazed by Adam Tooze’s wide and deep factual knowledge on all kinds of contemporary economic topics. Even more impressive given that he is primarily a professor of economic history. I personally don’t (yet ;) much agree with many of the Keynesian conclusions, but fully trust him on the...Read full review »

Tooze is rather excellent. At the same time, the other nice gentleman sounds a bit too much like the world revolves around the US...which is a bit surprising for a Foreign Policy podcast. Still, thumbs up for the show.

Only 4 episodes in but I am enthralled. Tooze’s depth and breadth of the subject will have you paying attention to every word. Great for people beginning to learn about Econ.

Everything Adam writes or tells is prescient and intelligent. This podcast is a way for us, young economist, to follow his thoughts closely and look at the world in a more nuanced way. The questions from Cameron are on the point and the podcast’s is fun to listen to.

Tooze’s appearance on any podcast is always insightful and entertaining so it’s great to see Foreign Policy provide a dedicated outlet for him. No one does more to demystify the complexities of economics and finance and their interaction with politics and history. Abadi also deserves credit as an...Read full review »

Not just Adam chatting (which would be good on its own) but it’s got a fun host and nicely (though not overly) edited and produced.

Adam Tooze is truly one of the best thinkers around. Insightful and informative. A great additional to my weekly podcast listening!

Fantastic educational podcast. I heard Adam on Ezra Klein’s podcast and this is of a similar cut of Ezra’s. Great deep dive of the US and World’s financial dynamics. It will get you real smart, real quick if you listen carefully enough IMO. Cameron is a perfect fit with Adam and introduces the...Read full review »

This is a great listen. Perfect for anyone who wants a better understanding of international macroeconomic and political issues. Tooze is a brilliant speaker - lucid, expansive and wide ranging, yet always clear and informative. Great for students or any interested lay-person. Highly recommended.

Great podcast

Absolutely love this show. Mr. Abadi asks the sort of questions that a curious non economist like me and Mr. Tooze answers the questions in language that’s anyone can understand. Helps assuage the fear peddling of politicians and media. Virtual hug, elbow bump, pat on the back to them both.

A great new show! I’m not typically interested in economics but the catchy name caught my eye so I checked it out. Adam and Cameron do a good job of explaining complicated topics in an interesting and engaging way. Definitely subscribing!

Tooze is always top quality and worth listening to on any topic without exception. His presence alone is enough to attract a top rating from me. Time spent listening to this show will not be wasted. I discovered this podcast by chance the day after the first episode was released. I was ecstatic to see a podcast with Adam Tooze as a co-host (as I’m sure many others will be).
