Validating and affirmative
I am excited and thrilled about this book. I literally was raised with this understanding from my parents and primarily my father. I am a union labor activist in our nations capital and just today, my mentor was talking about government functioning as a cast system. It is very disappointing and very discouraging to find that the very conditioning situation that you speak of in this book can be seen live in direct even amongst affluent African-Americans. I find myself constantly come bearing the injustice and the maltreatment of workers in our nations capital and defending the rights of labor they are pay livable wage healthcare coverage and everything else that every worker in the American system deserves to obtain. I hope that this brings about more discussion I would like to see more discussion to wash this type of type of topics are in conjunction with our flight as African-Americans in this country and our billet he to move in the system and to improve on our conditions of living in our standards of living and to be able to be more educated and develop our own sense of existence our own sense of healthy survival where we can take control and steer our plight in the right direction. As an African-African American, it is very painful to see what our world has been and the empty hope of change that we are currently operating from even as Black America. We often speak of “White Privilege “ however, as African Americans, we have been conditioned by White American standards and notions of success. I call our condition “Ladder Privilege “ which functions much like “White Privilege “. It speaks to how affluent African Americans treat those who either are trying to climb the “Ladder” or have no way, hope or option of a ladder. As you can see, I have a lot I can say. I have the advantage of being from a parent from Nigeria as well another parent from America. I have lived and experienced both countries as well. A whole lot to say......so many truths and epiphanies. God bless you both. Ps. Love analogies, I always use them when I teach and speak. 😉
