What's behind the next door?
Ostium. Elevation 282, Population 0. I binge listened to it in the better part of a week (at least when I wasn't working or sleeping). I've always had an obsession with "portal" stories in which the protagonist passes through some boundary into a world they could never have imagined. Naturally, I was hooked as soon as the first door opened. Ostium is a world, for all of its unpredictability and danger, that I would actually want to visit if it really existed. Plus, it looks like all the weirdness and plot threads are actually coming together. It feels like there's an actual plan for how this will end, as opposed to some other stories that either pulled something out of nowhere or meandered to the point where no questions were ever actually answered. Any quibble I may have is petty (mostly my being unconvinced by the accent Alex uses for Dave) considering this small, but passionate crew handles storycraft and worldbuilding well enough to go toe to toe with the bigger audiodramas. I've started quite a few podcasts with long story arcs, but rarely commit long enough to listen through to the end. With Ostium, I eagerly await next season.Read full review »

How does this have four and a half stars? How?! The writing is completely amateurish - like it was written by a high schooler. The acting is terrible. It’s just not good.

This podcast is not like anything else that I have come across. I luckily came late to the party so I had a load of episodes to binge listen to. Now I have to wait for season 2 to start properly, which I cannot wait. Most definelty recommend this to anyone
