I feel sad about it, because this always used to be a great podcast with fun and interesting content, well researched and presented. But it is now so overstuffed with advertising that I can just no longer tolerate it while walking or cycling. I had to delete it.

This is a good podcast to spark interests in various subjects! Every time I finish a series I’m inspired to go check out the literature recommended in the episode and to go into further research on the subject in question. As a fellow practitioner, the crazy and exciting stories inspire my...Read full review »

I always look forward to getting this in my feed. Very well thought out, organized, and entertaining. It’s clear a lot of work goes into this show.

In the Gilgamesh episode you accuse people of racism because an Iraqi didn’t get full credit for the Gilgamesh discovery. You didn’t research this, you just said it. Your podcast is not a racism and morals podcast so it was unnecessary to include. But since you did it should be accurate. ...Read full review »

Sebastian shows us a unique way to explore history by asking questions and playing around with allegory. Finally some one who does not claim to know it all but brings curiosity to the past to better understand ourselves and the future. Super clever, fun, light hearted, deeply researched, magical,...Read full review »

This is easily my favorite podcast. Sebastian presents all facets of a historical topic and tells history as a story-what’s real, what’s embellished and what’s forgotten. I appreciate the listed sources, the art that accompanies the podcast, and Sebastian’s voice. And the music is awesome too.
AutumnAlchemist via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/02/21
The Robert Johnson story is just silly, especially siting naturally occurring ants and snakes at a cemetery. A real stretch. Nevertheless the series is enjoyable.

Not only does Sebastian deliver a great synopsis of his topic for the week, he does it in an entertaining way that keeps me interested and entertained! I’ve followed him from the start! And I’ve enjoyed hearing about his family and some of his life in the process. I Highly Recommend his podcast!...Read full review »

I enjoy the reporting and skepticism of fantastical legends. *WARNING* If you listen to this with headphones or earbuds as I do, turn your volume down after the prefacing first part of the show. The saxophone in the theme song will burst your eardrums.

This is a wonderful podcast that I can’t recommend enough (trust me, my friends are bored of hearing about it). Sebastian’s style as a host is enjoying and engaging. Love the show - hate the opening theme music. It’s abrupt, jarring, and just plain terrible. I rush to skip over it, and wish it was at the beginning of the episode, so it was easier to avoid

I tried several episodes. The podcaster tries to emulate Dan Carlin and fails. It’s not a bad podcast but he crams a good 20 minutes into and hour long podcast. Typically very droning and dragging along

The name of the podcast threw me off at first. It made me think that the show was about changing actual history into some kind of conspiracy story cover up. I like the stories and in general some of them may be my only learning and interest on that subject. I can enjoy them in the moment and move on.
