Private Eye remains the most trustworthy neutral news source still employing investigative journalism. Their podcast, the elusive p94, where all stories go to die, had better be good then. It is

I often find other news podcasts whether satirical or serious, often can be too heavy and depressing. But Private Eye always manages to be very informative and I come away positive after listening. The team are great.

Funny and informative like no other.

My absolute favourite show! Always has me laughing, not that may other things currently do that. Love the whole team

Live in London was just hilarious. I listened on headphones while on a run. I must have looked crazy as I kept bursting out laughing. Johnson and Captain Tom sketches were just the best

Everything that’s good about PE in audio format. I eagerly anticipate each episode and wish it were more regular. Keep up the good work folks.

In a competitive ‘centrist’ podcast market, this one consists largely of insufferably posh sounding folks whinnying and being condescending. Little insight, much contemptuous bile. They all appear very pleased with themselves. Soul destroyingly awful.

PE doing what it does best: investigating and skewering those in power, always with a wry smile. Love it even more with Helen Lewis on-boss. Overall, v good indeed and often hilarious (amongst all the current gloom).

I find the show enjoyable, informative and informed.

Private Eye appears to have sadly become little more than the centrist standard bearer. Lots of privately educated people using incorrect figures and assumptions (HS2 reporting in particular has been abysmal) ticking off any public spending. Whilst their local Govt work continues, looking at...Read full review »

Could you please ask Adam not to shout into the microphone. Otherwise top drawer podcast!

Cover many stories that just don’t get the attention they deserve. Valuable work and enjoyable podcast (and magazine). Funny too. Deserves more subscribers.

Humorous and informative.

Love the Private Eye and all the work they do, however this podcast is unbearable to listen to as one the of the presenters talks so fast he is stumbling all over himself and I can’t hear what anyone is saying

I normally enjoy the Paul Foot awards but this year, total disappointment! I know some journalists like to talk about themselves (and do they ever !!!) but these investigations !!?!! - broken gravy bones found in bottom of dog treat box, shock horror ! butter melting on a hot day, cup of tea...Read full review »

Private Eye is all we have left that is truly independent and objective, another page is very welcome.

Not always an easy listen, but always an insightful one. The satirical magazine continues to do some of the most important journalistic work in UK.
Ian_Gardner via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/11/22
This podcast is just what you’d expect from Private Eye - sheer brilliant reporting wrapped up in clear language and with an unassuming non pompous delivery. The only disappointing thing about it is its rarity! If only we could receive these more frequently, I’m sure the world would be a better...Read full review »

These podcasts give more time to explore the topics in depth, a useful addition to the print issues.

Lives up to the Eye’s reputation for gleeful muckraking with tongue planted firmly in cheek. These guys are the happy-go-lucky Jack Russell terriers of investigative journalism, digging deeply and enthusiastically until they catch the prey they’re after—and the hauls they bring in are truly...Read full review »

I love Private Eye and this bite size podcast (well, compared to reading the print issue) is well worth a listen though it might make you angry at the incompetence, waste and pocket lining that goes on in this country.
SwearingDad via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/03/22
God knows there’s plenty to expose! Pod is funny informative and sometimes biting. In a time when the big boys are chucking out 2or3 pods a week Private Eye remain cunningly hidden behind a name only old readers will spot and put out one pod at the rate of "when we feel like it!” Vermeer is...Read full review »

I shouldn’t be surprised but the waste on such a massive scale is astonishing. Very depressing. Nothing changes at the top.

Private eye is probably one of the only remaining trustworthy news sources in a world afloat with lies, corruption, half truths and incipient apocalypse - it also has cartoons. The podcast is a fascinating insight into the workings of the mag - a great way to get to know the contributors and how...Read full review »

Incredibly interesting and has made me subscribe to the rag. Solid work from AHM and a wonderful insight to how it’s made and what they choose. Now reading the mag, it’s a brilliant companion and interesting to see the same old names popping up (Udi Sheleg in the latest issue)

I stumbled across this podcast by accident, and I’m glad I did. While Nick Robinson on TV hasn’t been a favourite of mine, the podcast is different. Nick talks to the guests and has a friendly style, without being gushy, and asks good questions. I’ve enjoyed ever episode I’ve listened to, though...Read full review »

Subscribe to this excellent podcast and then subscribe to the magazine. As the last episode said they like to “bang on” but that’s just a phrase to indicate dogged investigative journalism and there’s little enough of that around these days. A British institution, long may it continue.
GadgetGav via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/22/19
Brilliant. Love it. Always really engaging, and I’m not even British (and nor do I live in the UK). But why does it come out so infrequently??

This is always an interesting podcast. The additional material and background to stories is thoughtful and the writers evidently know their stuff. Good journalism. Well linked and quizzed by Andrew HM. I just don’t understand the sporadic nature of it’s publication.
Coombsy99 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/14/19
Brilliant podcast, so great to hear correspondents who know their stuff and are indefatigable digging through the issues. Proper journalism but in bite sized digital format. Brilliant!
