Private Eye is all we have left that is truly independent and objective, another page is very welcome.

Not always an easy listen, but always an insightful one. The satirical magazine continues to do some of the most important journalistic work in UK.

This podcast is just what you’d expect from Private Eye - sheer brilliant reporting wrapped up in clear language and with an unassuming non pompous delivery. The only disappointing thing about it is its rarity! If only we could receive these more frequently, I’m sure the world would be a better...Read full review »

These podcasts give more time to explore the topics in depth, a useful addition to the print issues.

Lives up to the Eye’s reputation for gleeful muckraking with tongue planted firmly in cheek. These guys are the happy-go-lucky Jack Russell terriers of investigative journalism, digging deeply and enthusiastically until they catch the prey they’re after—and the hauls they bring in are truly...Read full review »

I am a subscriber to The Eye and see it as the go-to paper if you want to know what’s really going on. This podcast enhances their quality journalism. Well done you.

A informative and funny podcast, just do them more often!

I love Private Eye and this bite size podcast (well, compared to reading the print issue) is well worth a listen though it might make you angry at the incompetence, waste and pocket lining that goes on in this country.
SwearingDad via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/03/22
God knows there’s plenty to expose! Pod is funny informative and sometimes biting. In a time when the big boys are chucking out 2or3 pods a week Private Eye remain cunningly hidden behind a name only old readers will spot and put out one pod at the rate of "when we feel like it!” Vermeer is...Read full review »

I shouldn’t be surprised but the waste on such a massive scale is astonishing. Very depressing. Nothing changes at the top.

Private eye is probably one of the only remaining trustworthy news sources in a world afloat with lies, corruption, half truths and incipient apocalypse - it also has cartoons. The podcast is a fascinating insight into the workings of the mag - a great way to get to know the contributors and how...Read full review »

This is just like the mag - always interesting, funny at points, sometimes derailed by bitter gossip

Incredibly interesting and has made me subscribe to the rag. Solid work from AHM and a wonderful insight to how it’s made and what they choose. Now reading the mag, it’s a brilliant companion and interesting to see the same old names popping up (Udi Sheleg in the latest issue)

I stumbled across this podcast by accident, and I’m glad I did. While Nick Robinson on TV hasn’t been a favourite of mine, the podcast is different. Nick talks to the guests and has a friendly style, without being gushy, and asks good questions. I’ve enjoyed ever episode I’ve listened to, though...Read full review »

Subscribe to this excellent podcast and then subscribe to the magazine. As the last episode said they like to “bang on” but that’s just a phrase to indicate dogged investigative journalism and there’s little enough of that around these days. A British institution, long may it continue.
GadgetGav via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/22/19
Brilliant. Love it. Always really engaging, and I’m not even British (and nor do I live in the UK). But why does it come out so infrequently??

First Class and One just can’t fault it. Singularly the best magazine and podcast too

This is always an interesting podcast. The additional material and background to stories is thoughtful and the writers evidently know their stuff. Good journalism. Well linked and quizzed by Andrew HM. I just don’t understand the sporadic nature of it’s publication.
Coombsy99 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/14/19
Brilliant podcast, so great to hear correspondents who know their stuff and are indefatigable digging through the issues. Proper journalism but in bite sized digital format. Brilliant!

It is hard to understate the importance of a publication that can speak truth to power. Many countries do not, cannot, have their own version of Private Eye. My only criticism is that it’s contents (in print and in audio podcast form) can make one very angry indeed - but that is hardly their...Read full review »

Thank you for this episode setting out clearly the scandalous mess that political ideology, avarice and ego have made of our school system. It doesn’t take much ‘investigating’ but so few people are shouting about it!
SoftSpotWelder via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/05/18
Why is this country in such a state? We are being screwed from the top down; as has always been so. Solid facts, dissected and discussed with specialist correspondents and relevant experts. A podcast very much in the style of Private Eye.
JasBaku via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/31/18
I have been a subscriber to the magazine for more than 20 years also love the podcast. Appreciate its tricky putting together a podcast or show without repeating or cannibalising the magazine content, but the team have executed this really well.
KZA via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/12/18
The show is good but it refuses to download new episoodes on iphone. Something to do with date tagging. If I delete the show and re-add it, I can manually download latest ep and I notice that it is tagged as my oldest podcast - even older than ones I've been sitting on for two years. As a reader of Private Eye since the late 1960s I have to declare myself as pro-Eye. The podcast is a (sometimes humorous) précis of PEs work.
