Slate podcasts are variably defective and silent
Ever since I subscribed to several Slate podcasts some weeks ago, about half of them come through with no sound whatsoever (lest you blame the victim: this doesn't happen with any other podcasts I download onto my intel macbook pro using Leopard with all updates and with iTunes 7 and 8 via Verizon Fios and an Airport Extreme). This becomes so frustrating (like an intermittent reinforcement scheme where you get kicked in the head from time to time) that I am now unsubscribing from all Slate podcasts... on the grounds that such an inept communications department is a black hole of geekdom that will never emerge from its own confusion.
