Nicely Balanced!
Slate's Political Gabfest presents 3 excellent newshounds that sit around the table and tell us what we really think, unlike many of the typical mainstream shows of this nature. They claim they drink wine whilst they conduct the conversation, however this is only speculative. The regulars are: John Dickerson - He provides the moderation and topics that get bantered about. He is kind of an insider on the outside, so he tells us. In particular he once talked about being asked to go to a Cocktail Party, but thought he was on the second tier list. David Plotz - He is that "thirty-something" guy who gives a great perspective of the political landscape, from what I would call a balanced left view. Never radical, but knows how to send the barbs in the right direction. He's honest and forthright. Emily Bazelon - I'm not sure if she always get to speak first, but she knows how to jump in there with that other thought. Sometimes I wonder if she's the devil's advocate or something more. I find her to be very balanced in the center of the political spectrum. She may one day get her own secret fan club. :-) Time for Cocktail chatter - This is where they go off and tell us some generally off-the-wall topic that you can talk about at your next party, to the girl in line at the grocery store, or anywhere you want to make conversation. It is fun, and has you walking away with good political perspective to start your weekend. Three Cheers for the Political Gabfest and thanks to Andy Bowers for Producing it!Read full review »

Predictably slanted to the left, but at least the host challenges some of the standard left leaning opinions. Would like to see more balance in the conversation. The health care reform town hall protestors are an interesting phenomena. Activism and protests are usually associated with the left,...Read full review »

Witzig, aber Smart. Die nehmen sich nicht so ernst, vertreten aber trotzdem weitgehend der Meinung der "In Crowd" (for better or worse!) Eine der wenigen, die ich jede Woche zuhöre.Read full review »

An interesting podcast for political junkies. The 'cocktail' feature at the end is a bit tedious. Also, Emily Bazelon has a penchant for sounding like a 15 year old Valley Girl, although others may react differently. Those two minor criticisms aside, the discussion is actually pretty good.Read full review »
