i like it but...
im giving 4 stars because i think its evil when people give low stars because of small things. i like this pod, & i like that they do a lot of shows no one else does, i could not find a single other podcast doing tell me lies recaps at all. & i like that they are two women discussing!! so many include a man & sometimes i do not want to hear a mans opinion on female characters. here is where my criticism comes in though. i do think there is something to be said for doing a little more research on the show or watching the episodes a few times or taking notes before the podcast. there are a ridiculous amount of things they miss that arent like they just didnt bring it up, its like they ACTUALLY missed it. its hard to listen to a recap podcast that feels like it doesnt even know what happened at times. my second/last critique, i think sometimes specifically kate? (i dont actually know who is who for sure because you never do an actual introduction saying im kate & im carinn) but in the recent white lotus recaps, i get very put off by the throwing away of characters because "you dont know them" "you cant relate" "thats not your experience" i get that, but just because you do not recognize a character doesnt mean its not working. i think tv is a great opportunity to get lost in characters you have never see or experienced before. i dont know it rubs me wrong, especially because the characters you were throwing away were mostly the WOMEN because you said you only recognized "the finance bros" which are arguably the worst characters on the show. so i just wanted to bring that to your attention, because it comes across poorly on a show thats supposed to be about understanding complex women in media.Read full review »

Fun and smart podcast that feels so relevant right now. Why didn’t I think of this? So glad these two complicated ladies did! Can’t wait for more.

I had my volume in my car up all the way to near these ladies. I’m referencing the “Tell Me Lies Bananna” episode. Too much of a whisper. Please speak into mic. Otherwise, fun podcast!
