Mom/son relationship building resource
We love movies (normal mom/son dates)! I am not too strict when it comes to movies but I do like to be informed. Several weeks ago my son and I were talking about a movie we had seen and were discussing the "undertones" of the movie (typical teenage response "Mom, sometimes it's just a movie"). It wasn't long after that I discovered Popcorn Theology (Star Wars episode with Dr. Lisle), "I am not the only one!!" It has brought a new dynamic to our movie talks (& car rides) along us to talk about how a particular movie portrayed Christian worldviews, etc. Mom doesn't seem so crazy. I especially love the discussions that take place on the Facebook page. It is a great way to interact and see what others are saying (confirm/convict my own thinking). I think it helps our discussion when it is not just my opinion, when I can reference other believers, showcase that not everyone agrees, but explain the conversation. Thank you Popcorn Theology for helping us not to be "mindless consumers" and for offering an enjoyable resource! We have even started watching some of the movies/series from the podcast or talked about on Facebook (e.g. Ant-Man / the Flash).Read full review »

I'm very choosy with podcasts. If I'm not getting salient info from prepared and talented hosts, I dip. Growing up, film was an escape. I feel like God has given me undeserved new eyes to see man for who he is, Jesus for who HE is. These dudes at PT break down so well the PHILOSOPHIES...Read full review »

A filmmaker said a movie’s best moments are when the audience’s hands are frozen in place, popcorn forgotten for the story. Always something this exciting in every episode of Popcorn Theology.
