Love anything Paul Bloom does - no one explains psychology in such a digestible and real world way. Have only just discovered this podcast and am loving listening to the episodes alongside reading his book The Human Mind.

I drew out that podcast over many many months. I don’t remember much of the content, but the ending certainly was well done. Am happy.

I could listen to Paul and Dave talk about psychology all day! Have been hoping for a series like this since I first heard Paul on VBW. Highly recommended.

I recently started a postgraduate diploma in psychology and this podcast is simply superb covering the foundations of the discipline. The clarity of the hosts and the criticisms are thought provoking and invite the listener to reflect deeply afterwards. Thank you for making this!

Paul and Dave are naturally excellent at communicating these ideas and have a comfortable rhythm of exchange that makes for a wonderful listen. I hope you guys keep making episodes even if you’ve covered the whole book. Q&As alone are great!

I really want to commend these men for going to the topics of sex differences, which is a topic in which I’m extremely interested in. It’s very refreshing to hear psychologists soundly and frankly acknowledge that no culture is free of patriarchy and that men want more sex than women...Read full review »

Two of the best communicators/popularizers in the field provide fascinating conversations about a range of psychological topics. As someone who works in the field, I would happily recommend this to anyone who is curious about the science but hasn’t done any formal learning on it. I would also...Read full review »

Everything you ever wanted to know about perception and behaviour, without Jordan Peterson screaming at you to become a paranoid Baroque reactionary climate skeptic

Great Pod! But 2 pounds of meat? Meat is mainly contractile protein--or smooth muscle protein in organ meats. Brain is neither. It has a minor component of smooth muscle protein in vessels. Come up w a new noun. Two pounds of neural tissue? Sorry, I am a cardiologist. Everything else was...Read full review »

This podcast is awesome and is among the most useful material I’ve ever seen for understanding what the SCIENCE of psychology is about. As someone with a PhD in experimental psychology (in the clinical area), I can tell you that the way the hosts think and what they believe represents very...Read full review »

First of all, kudos to both of you for devoting an entire episode to Sigmund Freud--very daring! There was a lot that you got right, but, alas, a lot that you got wrong. Where am I coming from? PhD in Depth Psychology (Freud/Jung) here, with close to 20 years of intense study in this field. I...Read full review »

Excellent introduction to psychology as a science and philosophical topic, based on the first two episodes. I am a trained psychologist. I think of the podcast as an opportunity for repetition of old learning. Based on my personal professional preferences, I had low expectations for the episode...Read full review »

Two brilliant, extraordinarily well-qualified people discuss psychology in a captivating and accessible way. Their conversation flows naturally from topic to topic, and it keeps the listener engaged all the way through.
