“Once, every two weeks or so, I get to listen to Jim and Eric on my way to work and back, and then to and back again, and then, if I'm lucky, to and back from work one more time. And then the podcast is done. Whether the podcast is 2 hours or 40 minutes, I'm always entertained. Jim and Eric like to talk about three of my favortie things. Boardgames, music, and booze. They like about these things what I like about them: stimulation of the senses, creativity, intellectual engagement, and social pleasure and bonding. Though I love old world whiskey, it's just one of my many booze wives, so I wish they'd court beer and American whiskey a little more. But I always find their opinions considered and helpful. And when I already love a game that they give a good review too, I find myself cheering. I don't know why it happens like that, but it speaks volumes when you value the opinion of a stranger so much that you want them to agree with you even though you realize they'll likely never know that they are agreeing with you. So, listen to Punching Cardboard. Jim snd Eric, if you ever find yourself traveling through Greenville, SC, fancy beers at Birds Fly South are on me. Y'all have earned them.”Read full review »

“Punching Cardboard is even better than a 12 year old bottle of "Sullivans Cove". They are knowledgable, sound great, and taste like “honey, vanilla and haystacks”.
Seriously, give them a try if you like board games, rants, or whiskey!”Read full review »
“I've never met Jim and Eric - but they have exquisite taste in music (Big Thief, Peter Perrett, Shearwater, etc, etc.), Whisky (my fave - Highland Park 12), and of course - board games. They give insightful opinions of mostly heavy games, virtually every one of which a heavy gamer would...”Read full review »
