Love the podcast. The banter, the music, the wiskey and even the games... Keep it up and may episode 169 never come

Lol...these guys love to ramble on about just crap. It's fine but I just don't want to hear that..and then get to the board game part. The board game part has some insight but I hate the "reluctant opinion" bit. Sorry we got you out of bed gentlemen to tell us your story...hahaRead full review »

Long time listener - for those that have been into the hobby board game market for a while and have started to tire of the hype, or constant peddling of the hotness... Here's the podcast for you. Honest opinions from experienced gamers. Keep up the great work!Read full review »

Jim and Joe don’t have a fancy template for reviews, a 6 point scale, a gavel or even an award to hand out. Each episode is simply two gamers discussing some recent plays of a title and then presenting their impressions of the game this far. Sometimes a game can bomb in one episode only to open...Read full review »

This is one of my favorite gaming podcast. These guys are just real. They aren’t trying to impress, they are just giving their opinions about games. I’m not even sure I agree with them, but still love the banter. For one, I am not looking forward to episode 169.

Has been one of my favourite boardgame podcast for a couple of years. I only listen for the boardgames content ( but they always write out the timestamps for this ). It is something about Punching cardboard that makes me want to hear what THEY think about a game, even though I have already heard...Read full review »

This podcast has a distinguished gentleman who illuminates all on the issues that matter; performing arts, contemporary entertainment, refined beverages and dissecting tabletop sessions. All conducted in a refined & structured format. Very professional. Jim’s pretty good too. J/k Jokes...Read full review »

I like this show, but the long rambling parts don’t do the show any favours. The boardgame discussion is always good, even the music and whiskey is alright, but 50 minute rants about airlines aren’t interesting. I know Jim is a big Marc Maron fan, but Maron’s podcast is good in spite of his...Read full review »

Hands down my favorite podcast. I enjoy the banter, the games discussions are excellent. I’ve purchased an above average amount of whiskey since live started listening. I even like the music talk even though our tastes don’t always jibe. It’s exactly what I want in a podcast. Thanks gents!

Checkout Punching Cardboard if you like deep dive reviews of heavier board games along with a side of good conversation about their latest alcoholic beverage discovery.

I find this show endlessly entertaining...and the game reviews have been very helpful.

I don't really use Stitcher. I love Punching Cardboard. They have thoughts and feelings and cynicism. They will explain alcohols and other sounds. They do talk about board games and I will keep listening on.

This is the best boardgame Podcast out there! While listening to it you feel as if you are hanging out with Jim and Joe. Heavy games are still the main topic, but on top of that, there is conversation about music, movies, tv shows, whisky, now even beer - and maybe most important, notes on...Read full review »

Top notch guys drinking top notch drinks and playing top notch games. These guys do all of these things and create great conversation around it. Came for the games and will stay for the conversation even if the games disappear.

I appreciate that the episodes touch on more than just boardgames though that is the main reason I tune in. I agree with much of the politics, like learning about music I may not have otherwise considered, and learning more about whiskey. I miss Eric, but Joe has grown on me. I’m still waiting on...Read full review »

Jim and Joe can go off on all sorts of tangents, and I love it. They really get into stuff they love. I don’t even drink whiskey, and I still love hearing them talk about it.

This is not your run of the mill board game podcast. There will be discussions about whiskey, vitriol toward IPAs, a wide variety of music discussed and occasional descents into baseball or hockey. The hosts have an opinion and the show has character and that's how it should be. Much like a...Read full review »

One of the best podcast out there for boardgames. They branch out into into other topics such as whisky, music and even a bit of sports and politics. Always very thoughtful, inclusive and interesting to listen to! Rock on guys!

These guys stop complaining enough, they were down right postive on this last episode. That is unacceptable. I demand more complaining! In all seriousness I enjoy the banter between these guys and how it is just free hand discussing what is important to them including boardgames and other fun stuff.

Joe was put in a real tough spot: filling the big chair and opining with a deep baritone. He almost gets there- gain some weight, get a 6-figure job, and get a voice changer. This is a very enjoyable show. You never know the route but you always enjoy the trip. The only thing missing is free...Read full review »

What I love about this show is they are usually talking about 2-4 titles max per episode and they will say if it's a first impression after a few plays or if it has been many plays. This means you don't get half-cocked reviews trying to share big thoughts on a game that hasn't really...Read full review »
