Nose, Palate, Finish, and Balance: 90/100
What's not to like about two gamers talking about games while enjoying their whisky/whiskey? This podcast isn't filler, like many other gaming podcasts out there, but instead is meaty and complex. And while sometimes filler is enjoyable enough, there are other times when you want something you can really sink your teeth into. But complex doesn't always mean smooth. Sometimes Jim's curmudgeonliness is a little overpowering. Sometimes Eric's optimisim about every game is eye-roll-inducing. But what what I LOVE about this podcast is that regardless of whether or not I agree with what they are saying, there is a good discussion taking place that makes the listening experience worthwhile.Read full review »

I don't really use Stitcher. I love Punching Cardboard. They have thoughts and feelings and cynicism. They will explain alcohols and other sounds. They do talk about board games and I will keep listening on.

One of the best podcast out there for boardgames. They branch out into into other topics such as whisky, music and even a bit of sports and politics. Always very thoughtful, inclusive and interesting to listen to! Rock on guys!

In-depth discussions of strategy games with music and whiskey reviews mixed in. Even though I don't drink whiskey, I find even those discussions entertaining because Jim and Eric have great chemistry and seem to genuinely enjoy making these podcast episodes.Read full review »
