Don't Call me, Ishmael
I tried, I tried. This story is so close to being good, but it's not good. The series is not good. The author is arrogant in his belief that a story does not need conflict or obstacle to overcome. And the protagonist is someone who, in all honesty, we would all think was a pretentious fop if we actually met him. I tried. I wanted to like it. And the next one and the next. Characters need some flaws, guy. And a plot does not consist of repeating the same details over and over again in excrutiating detail. It's not just me. Those of you who rated this a five are only trying to rationalize the time you invested in this series. Don't chase this white whale, people. It will only bring you misery and dispair.Read full review »
