Excellent work…Ms. Maddow has done it again!!! If this event, from our not-so-distant past, open the eyes of some Americans about what’s happening today and change the course of our immediate future, I’m not sure that we, as a Country, will come out as we did after WWII. The similarities of...Read full review »

Only a lot scarier. We’ll soon find out just how much punishment our aging democracy can endure.

I couldn’t stop listening and was shocked that I hadn’t heard about any of this before. But it’s very important for all of us to know this history. Both the content and the presentation were exceptional. Highly recommended!

What a story…and so frighteningly close to what we’re living through again.

I loved it! I learned a lot about american history that i never knew of before, at least not in details. . Unfortunatly this is still very applicable in 2024.

The information presented here is some heavy stuff but the background music makes it hard to listen to. It sounds like some salsa music for dancing but the subject matter is nothing to celebrate. It’s distracting and inappropriate for the content. And what’s with those screeching strings?? I...Read full review »

I can’t imagine the work that went into compiling this series. It was shocking, compelling and completely fascinating to listen to. I am grateful to have learned about this, all for the low low price of free! I read that Steven Spielberg optioned the rights to it for a movie and I can’t wait to...Read full review »

I didn’t know anything about this part of our history! Thank you so much for putting this together and making it available. It is scary how close it relates to todays times!

This was an incredibly informative and well done Pod. I can’t believe the extent of the corruption and scary how it seems to parallel to today. Thanks for the work done in informing the public!

I would recommend this to anyone committed to knowing truths about history that are repeating themselves today. Suspenseful, eye opening, and mind blowing. Thank you to the team that created this! Please keep telling more stories like this!

Rachel Maddow is an incredible historic researcher and does a great job with this series which is highly interesting and intriguing. My only complaint is the soundtrack, which is really annoying and the fact that Rachel always has a tendency to repeat herself too much. We get it the first two...Read full review »

Maddie’s Ultra will be on the final. Be prepared to show dates, names, and relevance to sustained democracy. Your final paper for this semester must explain in full, the relevance of this series title. It is due in two weeks.

..just astounding information, importance, and parallel. This reporting is invaluable. I am very pleased about the time I invested to listen, and grateful for Rachel Maddow’s talents and efforts. ..talk about “service to your country” !

Fascinating reporting, well produced and relevant, but the oratorical meandering and repetitive flourishes are excessive and exhausting by the end, and I found myself tuning out. About 2-3 episodes could have been trimmed out through cutting the repetition alone.

Thanks to Ms. Maddow for her dedication to both facts and story telling. I try very hard to see compromise as a requirement for unity, but sometimes you have to pick sides. This narrative reminded me of what we need to do today against very similar threats.

Rachel, Thank you. Congratulations on incredibly informative journalism. Your presentation of history always peaks my interest. What concerns me is that we can very easily substitute the name Trump and the story can remain the same. I am frightened. Thank you for your efforts. Great job.

Who knew all this espionage and sabotage was going on during the 1940’s in the name of Hitler and fascism? Not me! Now reading “Prequel,” after listening to the podcast a while back. This was an excellent series and further exhibits how our citizens continue to forget our country’s history and are doomed to repeat it.
