Have enjoyed listening to articulate thinkers on important topics. Would love to read the books I’ve heard discussed, but if I don’t get to, hearing them discussed is perhaps next best thing. Thank you Theos.

I initially followed this podcast because it seemed to align with a lot of my interests—non-fiction books, contemporary topics and debates etc… but I quickly stopped listening because the audio quality was so poor (I doubt it’s even edited) and the host wasn’t intriguing enough to continue on....Read full review »

A superb podcast which encourages the listener to engage with topics in an accessibly cerebral manner.

Nick Spencer chose a wide selection of books, each diving into a different subject yet each intellectually enriching. So it’s great that Nick Spencer can read them for us and then interview the authors and bring out the key themes and ideas for us. All done in a most...Read full review »

I love the way the presenter clearly understands the interviewees work at a level they are often not used to, and presses ever so gently on the implications for our understanding of human beings. I feel smarter - and richer- for listening

Nick Spencer does a fantastic job as host of Reading our Times. Not only does he conduct the podcast’s question-and-answer format with formidable knowledge, conversational warmth and contagious inquisitiveness but he has an unerring sense for the books and authors that really matter and that...Read full review »

This is a thoughtful and insightful review of important world shaping literature. It is a relief not to have reductionist side swipes based on myopic political silos. Instead we get a really stimulating and helpful guide into what, in other hands might become impenetrable and complex ideas, a...Read full review »
