Really well done - love the mix of interviews and the different perspectives presented throughout this podcast!

Well told and well researched. My one problem is the levity in the interviews with former terrorists. Some of these people have no remorse. They talk about planting bombs like it was a fun Sunday afternoon. All the while, the interviewers are enjoying themselves and I think they even laugh along...Read full review »

Entertaining way to do a serious non fiction subject. I wish I had this in school.

And I thought Canadian history was boring!

I enjoyed this. Some of the interviews were fantastic, I’ve never heard many of these first hand accounts. I suspect nobody else has until now. Well researched. What bothered me was the slight glamorization I felt some interview subjects got. These aren’t glamorous people, they’re former...Read full review »

Hearing the separatists talk about Anglo supremacy in Québec in the 1950s kind of reminds me of growing up as an anglophone in Québec in the 1990s. I live in Ontario now because it is impossible to find a job as an Anglo in Québec today. Funny how things go

Excellent well researched podcast which is accessible to non Canadians would have liked a little more context on Quebec but despite that I learnt a huge amount in a enjoyable way.

I was expecting many different perspectives and interviews with a wide variety of participants in this tumultuous but formative time for Quebec. This was not the case. It is poorly-researched, and doesn’t provide a perspective that in any way challenges or provides an alternative reading to the...Read full review »

I’ve recently been looking for more podcasts to see as there isn’t that many on here but finally I’ve found one that interests me and I’m so glad that I’m writing a review for this podcast

This is a fantastic look at an era in Canadian history. The narrating is great and the interviews are fantastic. Getting information from the source is so important and this podcast does that perfectly. Highly recommended.

The ads are overkill. Most podcasts don’t harass users with such annoying crummy ads in the beginning middle and end of the podcast. That aside, the podcast does a good job of going in-depth into the FLQ and Quebec separatism story.

Story was well researched and told in an engaging way- as an anglophone Canadian there was so much history I never knew and it’s great to have a new perspective!

I loved this, it was deeply interesting and informative end to end.

Great job placing the FLQ crisis in historical context both globally and nationally. More than I ever learned in school!

As an anglophone Montréal native I lived through the FLQ period. Thanks fir bringing this back into our consciousness.

Maybe this was just my equipment, but it was really annoying to listen to in my car on Bluetooth. The volume was not consistent, so it’d get super quiet and then I’d turn the volume up and get blasted. Not just when cutting between clips either... sometimes it’d be just the narrator talking and...Read full review »

Why are we funding this? This is obviously an attempt at stoking the fire with what’s going on.

Have an anglophone tell the FLQ story ;)

Brilliant work, as always, from Geoff Turner!

I will listened to anything covered by Geoff Turner after his brilliant series “On Drugs”. Similar to his previous work, Turner calls on his listeners to consider events with a much deeper understanding of context. The first two episodes have floored me by showing that the “October crisis” was...Read full review »

I was hooked by the first episode and as a Canadian, I’m interested in learning more about this history that I know nearly nothing about.
