A Generous King of Edinburgh and Podcasting
The informal chat with fellow comedians, the 5min spot for names I've never heard of and responses to what it would take for people to fellate Keith Allen are just three reasons why people should tune into this podcast. Richard Herring is at his best when he's acting childish, but he's even better when giving his guests respect and time to talk, without it ever feeling like they're all trying to crowbar in 'set pieces' written for TV panel shows. The King of Edinburgh is a generous monarch to his fans, which can lead to 'in jokes' at times (AIOTM for example, but I wouldn't grumble, I was in on the jokes after all) but in Episode 10 (recorded on 13.08.11) he made my wife and I very happy when he dedicated his Warming Up blog, his Warming Up podcast AND a little bit of this podcast to an email we sent him about us not being able to go to the Fringe and my wife sticking his picture on our wall instead (listen to the podcast or read the blog for details). He has genuine respect and love for his fans and with this free podcast (better than the 'Collings and Herring' ones by a long shot) he just keeps on giving.Read full review »
