As a longtime infosec enthusiast and freshman cyber security professional, I’ve been seeking good informative podcasts covering breaking news and tech in the industry. Risky Business was a breath of fresh air from the usual schlocky, over-dramatic true-crime style format so many cyber security...Read full review »

Great news on the cyber front, but occasionally marred by Patrick’s poor analyses and prognostications about American jurisprudence

Would it be possible to cover manufacturing ransomware attacks from 2024 on US manufacturing companies.

Fantastic weekly update by the very well informed and knowledgable Patrick and team. Always a useful analysis in addition to a run down of current events, and very useful take on vendors and solutions in the market too. I haven’t missed a week of this show in 2 years. Good work and thanks to all...Read full review »

I recently started listening to cyber podcasts, and Risky Biz is by far the best. They also have a Risky Biz News podcast that you can listen to daily. I just find the conversations in this podcast very informative and interesting. I love it.

It always a delight to listen to Patrick and Adam. They complement each other perfectly. They only criticism is that t Patrick is a little bit too dismissing when it comes to privacy concerns in regulations and legal issues, but these are valid opinions so I don’t mind too much.

Solid opinions on the worlds cybersecurity workings, told with great humor. I especially like the way advertising is non-disruptive and very informative - and the host is picky about advertisers.

The most authoritative source of cyber security news for a long time now. Well worth a listen.

Pat and Adam (plus guests) take the dry dry dry info-sec news, they inject thoughtful narrative and humour to make this a must listen. They have super in depth real world knowledge of the subject matter. They don’t pull punches but they deliver a weekly report which contains all the relevant...Read full review »

Risk.Biz has been the top of my priority podcasts for several years now, and I’m always excited to see a new episode notification. The quality of the coverage of the latest security news is unmatched by any other security podcast, with Patrick and Adam (or whoever has to fill his shoes when he’s...Read full review »

Great combination of news, in depth interviews, and paid content.

My favorite part is when Patrick and Adam discuss the security news. I usually end up crying from laughter, sometimes just wincing. It’s great stuff and super informative. Especially when the news portions run long, it’s like dessert.

Wish there was more than one episode per week. More podcasts need to take a similar approach to sponsors (sponsor bit at the end and a separate episode for people to hawk their wares). Perfect blend of information, humour, and humility.

Tempted to write “that’s it; that’s the review.” But I’ll hit some of the highlights. Joyce is both a highly skilled, technocratic leading bureaucrat, and his own best press secretary. I’m eclectic (dilettante, if you prefer)—I like to get the big picture. This was a new angle on the government...Read full review »

They are just like the American media- one sided and bias. The fact of the matter is, they only care to “research” and “contact” people who support their ideas rather than research both side to get the the truth. They have a lot of courage talking about things that they truly don’t understand,...Read full review »

I listened to every episode of this show for at least 5 years. I used to love it. Great info and good humor. However, over the last year and especially the last few months, the blatant anti-Trump focus lacks journalistic integrity. The final straw for me is Ig prong the Hunter Biden laptop...Read full review »

Patrick is a unique blend of skilled journalist and journeyman hacker, giving him a background that makes Risky Biz the best hard news podcast in InfoSec. He also gets great guests, and his model of turning sponsor interviews into something that is actually informative is unique in the space.

I’ve shared this podcast in my company slack as well as directly to lots of friends due to the variety of complex topics they cover. Somehow they even produce good content from InfoSec vendors pitches. This is my favorite weekly InfoSec news podcast and a good twitter follow.

By a good margin, my favourite security podcast. Informative, reliable, accessible and reliable. There are more in depth or more tech oriented podcasts, but I think risky business has a great balance.

When will hosts of unrelated podcasts learn that mixing them with politics is not a good way to go? The reason many of us listen to your podcasts is so that we can get away from politics. Information security podcasts don’t come better than this. A well rounded show keeping up with current news, topic experts, vendor chats and new terms being mined almost weekly ;-) This podcast definitely deserves a biscuit!!

These guys have some good content. But bear in mind that they are second only to The CyberWire in their incessant shilling for CIA and GCHQ talking points.
