I was unmarried and pregnant at 17. My only saving grace was that this was the early 90’s and the forced adoption practices had ended. My heart breaks for the women before me who had lost their babies, only due to this horrific policy of the times. When I reflect on the support that I received only a decade later than some women, it just feels so unjust that mothers and their children missed their opportunity to stay together.
