“Is it real, is it fake?
While that's the central question behind many urban legends, it also too applies to The Polybius Conspiracy -- both in the issues surrounding the central character (whose wacky story he just knows the audience won't believe), and the actual podcast itself.
I hesitate to call it "meta" -- given how cliched the term has become in this time of high irony, there is no more apt verbiage to describe this podcast.
Bottom line: it's a head-scratcher on multiple levels, leaving the listener plenty to chew on and discuss. Is this fiction, is it fact? It's definitely damned fun and engaging!
