“After being in Law Enforcement for 27 years and having done everything from being a supervisor, SWAT, investigations, instructor and just your regular knuckle dragging street cop, I have to say that this podcast is the best I've seen that would give the average citizen an insight into what goes on in policing.
Without using police jargon (except when it is necessary, and then it is explained), Dan and Dave offer up behind the scenes insight from everything from a standard residential burglary and the steps taken in the investigation, to the more horrific crimes of murder and sexual abuse. In their recounting of the crimes, there is no sensationalism and, not only do you get to see their thought process, but by bringing in others, such as a dispatcher, or the mother of a victimor and even playing portions of the suspect interviews, the listener gets a whole view of the incident and the people it has impacted (to include the officers).
Smith and Allen, as moderators, do an excellant job of asking questions, asking for clarifications on some of the responses and in general, keep the podcast from degenerating into a bunch of war stories and cop speak.
In a culture that glorifies fast, action paced police shows, that generally end inside of an hour with the bad guy going down in a hail of bullets or being thrown behind bars because CSI found that crucial piece of evidence that saves the day, you might think that this podcst would be a bit mundane. It is not! Keep up the good work!!!”Read full review »

The production quality is superb, the show flows naturally, there is some chatter but unlike some podcasts (you know which ones) they don’t spend the first 10 or 20 minutes with meaningless...”Read full review »

“So real and raw I feel like I lived through the incident, like I worked the job with these two cops.
I found this podcast the other day and I couldn't binge listen the way I usually do when I find a great new podcast, because with this one, you're so involved that you need some recovery...”Read full review »
