“I enjoy true crime podcasts and thought that the first episode of Small Town Dicks was well done. The second one really put me off. They are dealing with a man who is clearly suffering from a mental illness - the cops call him "crazy" a number of times - and yet multiple officers shoot him multiple times (I think 9 by their count) and kill him. Yes, he had weapons (a lot of them), but was there really no way to immobilize him, or have a strategy that avoided lethal force? Maybe there truly was not. But to then glamorize it and exploit his story on a podcast without any discussion of alternatives or help for those with mental health issues...it made me feel sick. “I love this show! The production quality is excellent and the stories are interesting. The hosts are outstanding! A very welcome departure from a lot of boring monotone true crime stuff currently being released. A breath of fresh air in the true crime genre! Please keep them coming!!”
