I find the personal advice segments so useless. I don’t care about Alison Roman’s life advice. I like her food

Will forever be an Alison Roman stan. Really loved ep 11 from s1 it was SO cute. Hope the same mix of Alison/Jen/Max happen again.

I really enjoy Alison’s writing, recipes, and YouTube series, but I had to force myself through the first season of this podcast and I don’t think I’ll return unless it shifts heavily towards food, cooking, etc. I just don’t like the main life advice portion of the episode or the guest host....Read full review »

I have all of Alison’s cookbooks and love Home Movies. She’s top tier at what she does as a cook and food writer. This podcast, however, just feels like an excuse to showcase and banter with her famous/cool friends. What makes her a life advice expert exactly? I’m still not sure after listening....Read full review »

I love the variety of questions and the way Alison and her guests keep things loose and funny while also taking the advice-giving seriously. Fun show!

From someone who loves it and uses it regularly: I love to add it to a homemade egg drop soup, along w sesame oil, a little sugar, & soy sauce. It’s also surprisingly good in a carbonara. I’ve put it chicken stir fries, I’ve added it to minced and deeply sautéed pork or turkey or beyond meat...Read full review »

I have tried but it’s too choppy and so hard to listen. I will stick to Home Movies until pod gets better. Why don’t you have Jess fromFat Mascara on ?

Allows you to get to know Alison Roman beyond her food persona. I always love opportunities to peek behind the curtain and see the human side of successful, creative women. Great selection of questions that are relatable and tackled with insight and humor. Excellent guests, too.

This woman can do no wrong in my book. Smart, kind, funny, beautiful, stylish dresser, amazing cook. Now she has an awesome podcast. Like the old country song goes, I’m sold.

The perfect mix of life tidbits, foodie questions and answers, and typical Alison-style wit and humor. A definite new favorite that I’m already really looking forward to each and every week.

I thought this was a culinary podcast and was SO excited when Alison announced it, only to find out it’s a hodgepodge of random life advice? With little to no culinary advice? The life advice isn’t organized in any one category, for example love/dating, career, family matters. I suppose it’s...Read full review »

Absolutely love Alison and all her recipes— was SO excited to hear she had a new podcast because I haven’t really found a culinary podcast I felt attached to since Home Cooking and was really craving a new one. When I tuned in, I was disappointed the contents were mostly life advice with cooking...Read full review »

Why
Dear lord, the white girl privilege 🫠 I expected this to be cooking forward, which would excuse even the same holier than thou vibe to an extent since that’s her expertise but this is a dumpster fire.

Alison is sweet, articulate, funny, and smart. I love listening to her speak, and love her take on things. I really enjoy her advice on food-related questions (which is what I thought this show was about). The other life questions should be cut from the show—they seem out of place and are...Read full review »

Big fan of Alison Roman and also the producer of this show who runs her own amazing podcast - fat mascara. I hate to say it but this podcast is a huge disappointment. The guest questions and topics have been incredibly boring and all over the place. Not sure what the intent really is here.

I hate when people say “stay in your lane.” Or “just do what you do and don’t try to grow as a person.” We contain multitudes! Love that your tackling life Qs in addition to cooking and baking Qs (aka, what you do best). Also love that you don’t claim to know it all but are just trying to help....Read full review »

This is some white girl, 30-something, up-speaking know-it-all that just needs to focus on what she does best. 🤷🏻‍♂️…..☮️❤️

The most exhausting thing someone can do is get married & think that means they know it all. This is the kind of white noise that could induce a coma where boredom bores into your brain until you bleed out. Every single person on this episode could have googled their problems. & if you...Read full review »

Our favorite Culinary KWEEN does it again!! But this time she's sautéing life's problems with a dash of humor, turning every crisis into a delightful soufflé of laughter.
