“With the demise of ASM Classics, I needed something to fill the hole that was left, and this podcast has done the trick. I knew BD from ASM Classics, and he runs a very professional website and podcast, and this spider-fan is grateful for the job that he does. Juvenile humor runs rampant in this podcast, but that by no means detracts from the grade whatsoever.
People complain about the panelists being too negative about the current books. I say this: everybody has their own opinion, and when you're investing as much money into the books as we all are, we have the right to complain if we're not happy with the outcome, and the books haven't been really good for a while. These are people who have been fans their whole life, and it seems that Marvel has almost turned their backs on them. Everybody's opinion is valued and welcomed in my opinion.
I enjoy the various topics discussed, as everybody is very knowledgable on all things Spidey, and their input and opinions help create great debate and discussion. You get a various range of outlooks and opinions because the panelists age from ancient (JR) to fresh-faced and innocent (Donovan). My favorite section is when the panelists answer message board questions. I know that if I have a burning question, whether it be about facts or what their opinions are on something, I can come to these "spider-experts" and ask it, and I will be satisfied with my answer. I also love when creators are interviewed. I've been listening to older episodes, and recently listened to the Sal Buscema podcasts for the first time. They were hilarious, and very informative!
