Amazing mix between summary and in-person reporting, I feel like I’ve learned so much after listening to each episode, and also that I’ve gotten info on what things are like on the ground. Thanks so much guys, your journalism is needed now more than ever

I don't like the fluff episodes about horses loose in London, fax machines in Germany, etc. I prefer a more focused podcast feed. I have lots of podcast options. If I wanted a fluffy podcast, I'd go get a fluffy podcast. Please focus.Read full review »

State of Ukraine was an excellent podcast that kept listeners up to date on a variety of topics pertaining to life in Ukraine and Russia’s ongoing war on Ukraine. NPR rebranded the podcast as State of the World, which provides far less information about Ukraine. World events are important, of...Read full review »

This is exemplary of literally the worst kind of reporting. The reporter not just paints an event in the color of her own views but also omits most important facts. Thus deliberately trying to incite animosity. Supreme Court of India is a fairly apolitical body and for this reason regarded highly...Read full review »

State of Ukraine is now State of the World: with much less coverage for Ukraine. Is the Russo-Ukrainian War no longer as important in the scope or world events? Why not offer both, State of the World as well as State of Ukraine? Or is this a decision to chase clicks and views?

This used to be focused on the war and invasion of Ukraine. I’m not sure what happened, I didn’t subscribe to a podcast about the state of the world. In fact I can’t see Ukraine mentioned at all in the last 5 or 10 episodes. What a shame, I’ll have to unsubscribe and find another podcast about...Read full review »

Thank you for the excellent focused and succinct coverage of Ukraine, while it lasted. Used to listen to this every day to keep up with developments there. Will no longer be listening since the podcast has been diluted by broadening coverage to crises outside of Ukraine. Of course my thoughts and...Read full review »

I’m a little confused … did you change the name of the State of Ukraine podcast to, instead, State of the World? Or was State of the World a pre-existing podcast, and you folded State of Ukraine into it? All I know is I used to listen to State of Ukraine, and as of today (2013.10.12) it appears...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to NPR’s Ukraine news coverage for a while now for their unique perspective and news stories, but I’m disappointed with their recent more obvious one-sided coverage, particularly with the cluster munitions story. C’mon NPR. You can do better journalism.

There are several excellent podcasts about the war in Ukraine, but this isn’t one of those. When, after Prigozhin headed for Moscow and turned around, a podcast can only quote the official statement made by the Kremlin, what’s the point?
Toosterhof via Apple Podcasts · Netherlands · 07/02/23
Not all news outlets continue to cover the war in Ukraine, which is unfortunate. The war is not over and having this daily snapshot is important to stay informed. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦

What is really going on is that everyone is drunk and having sex with each other. My wife is a stripper and I rarely see her in clothes normally I just see her butt naked
JJLoki50 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/02/23
The most recent episode was a tired retread of how Russia merely needs security guarantees and all will be well. Nobody wants to invade Russia. It was a tired recitation of Russian talking points with no contextualization from neutral academics or analysts. Deeply disappointing.

This show is so sparse and doesn’t ever cover what really goes on. So frustrating. Thankfully European media actually covers this war and does a wonderful job.

Very shallow, no substance reporting, trying to play both sides of the fence and failing miserably.

“Civil war in Ukraine in 2014”, “Conflict in Ukraine “, “ Ukrainians fighting in the cities which is against international law” - the amount of pro-Russian messages is astonishing.

All the hosts (standard&guest) do a nice job. The review below on 4/4/22 was posted by a racist clown who feels the need to disparage A. Roscoe because she doesn’t sound like 90% of public radio’s hosts that happen to be white. In fact, A. ROSCOE is an incredibly talented and super smart...Read full review »

Covering all kinds of angles, focusing on the humanity and power struggle. On point. Thank you. 🙏🏻 p.s. I am confused by the few manufacturing a kerfuffle over the pod logo. By my eye, it aptly illustrates the invasion in context of two peoples with a long common history. 🤷‍♂️

The information here is incredible. This isn’t news one can walk outside and obtain.
