“November 7 update:
Wow! The podcast is surprisingly getting better. S2/E1 has exactly what a good podcast should have: useful content, interesting topics and properly mixed audio. Stephen no longer sounds like he's sitting on the toilet in his bathroom recording his audio. And kudos to Tim for tampering down on Stephen's self-deprication. It's one thing to be modest but another to sound sad. Also, I am glad to see you guys removed the "morning radio show" sound bites. You guys are actually starting to get it!
September 6: Just finished the first episode of this podcast and the hosts have a lot of work ahead of them. The audio needs to be mixed properly and their microphones need to be filtered. The echoing is an easy fix by just moving in a room with noise absorption.
The external sound bites that pepper in whenever they make a point is distracting. The solution would be to just have a normal conversation and don't try to be flashy with your sound bites.
Get some original music as your intro and outro. The "Eminem-esque" song you have playing in the background sounds cheap and corny. Find an obscure track, pay the fee to use it and make your podcast feel unique. Otherwise you'll just end up sounding like a corny Tony Robbins seminar.
Keep tweaking the podcast and I'm sure you'll create some very useful content.”Read full review »
