Love the empathy of the hosts in honoring the victims. Thank you. One request, longer episodes please!

As an investigator myself and a first generation immigrant I love hearing these podcasts. Please make another season soon.

Culturally intriguing, deeply sought out investigation reporting, emotional charged… best true crime podcast yet.

But does audiochuck just hate their audience? I think maybe.

Loved this podcast. No filler. I do wish the husband would be charged.

Must listen!! Not only do I love their voices, which is important to me, but their reporting is great! Sad story but they are telling it beautifully. Highly recommend!!!

Both seasons are so good. But season 2 had me frustrated to no end. With the police and prosecutors. Shame on them. This is solvable but they don’t care. Keep putting pressure on them. I believe justice will prevail in the end. You do an amazing job with this podcast!

True crime is my favorite genre but these hosts sound like they’re being forced to do this show against their will. If you like low energy hosts who sound like they’re just reading off an unfamiliar script then this is the show for you!

I just need some more! Please, just a little to get me through….got the Podcast addiction blues cause I used up all the seasons binging that strange-land, my podcast of choice! lol. Seriously, I got hooked driving from San Fran to LA. A friend suggested Stangeland Season one. Wow! Never...Read full review »

I listened to the second season, so my comment only applies to that. This podcast had potential, but it dragged the story out for way more episodes than it needed to. I also don’t know I agree with the journalistic approach in some cases. It seems people were ambushed and recorded against their...Read full review »

The hosts act as if they showed for work this morning and were just handed the season 2 case to work on. There isn’t any sense that they have done any pre work on the story or tried to make earnest connections with the victims family or LE.

My family immigrated to Miami, Fl from Cuba in 1963. 60 years later Miami is very different since it has a huge Hispanic population and I will say I have become very Americanized. This Podcast has brought back a lot of memories of my youth in “Little Havana” as the predominantly Cuban immigrant...Read full review »

Great podcast, not your typical true crime podcast. Great story telling with detailed research. They do a great job of telling all sides of the story, will keep you guessing!

Season 1 was good, but season 2 is amazing. Investigation and reporting is really admirable and I am emotionally invested! So many perspectives and accounts.

Great job, very informative. I drive to work and listen every morning.

Season 1 was…ok. The narration, however, was very difficult to listen to in my opinion. I understand podcasts are mostly scripted, but the “acting” of the conversations between the narrators and the presenting of the information just seemed so fake and unnatural.

(Spoilers) the only evidence that they present as “evidence” of his “innocence” is that people say he “seems like he’s a nice guy who couldn’t do it”. They never take on any of the prosecution’s evidence! Bullets? Gloves? Son not defending his father on the stand? Hairs found? Agenda page is...Read full review »

Great investigation very meticulous, sad you all did more then the investigators. HOWEVER WHYYYYYY, At the end do you say ‘on the next episode that starts NOW’ but it doesn't start there like ad’s or commercials but it doesn't START. I have to fast forward. I would move that LINE to a...Read full review »

I started listening to this podcast because I am a fan of true crime, and it popped up on my suggested. While I am really interested in learning more about the case in season 2, I cannot keep listening to this podcast. Was recommended season 2 by another true crime podcast. I didn’t think I’d get so hooked I end up binging the whole season! Defiantly one of those stories you just can’t stop think about.

I like it but the episodes are too short and even then they’re filled with a really annoying editing thing where they repeat information we just heard by an original source like it was gossip or something. I want to know what happens but there could be at least half as many episodes. It’s a...Read full review »

I enjoyed the first season- I think it incorporated a lot of cultural education and context that’s often either ignored and misrepresented when discussing cross-cultural events. The second season is a big miss. Agreeing with other reviews that the reporting has questionable ethics, the episodes...Read full review »

Love Audiochuck but this a hard “no” for me. I wanted to get sucked into the story but I can’t stand the narrator’s voice.

It’s a well researched and vividly told podcast of a story that is rarely heard due to cultural and language differences.

I have to agree with the reviews the cold calling just seems a bit bizarre for me and just a bit sensational, kind of like a Jerry Springer show where they kind of just ask you questions at the drop of a hat and just see how you react I definitely feel that it would be so much better if they were...Read full review »

Season 2 is excellent. It’s a tragedy this hasn’t been solved or gotten any attention. Thanks for choosing this story.

Really like the podcast but not loving how Ben is made to ask ridiculous questions that segue into the next part. Makes him sound ridiculous which I’m sure he isn’t.
hmak16 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 05/16/23
Hosts haven’t built the relationships or done the pre work needed to tell these stories. The entitlement is stunning. In season 2 they cold call the victims’ family members and then start investigating them and speculating about their involvement because they declined the phone interview. I...Read full review »

I randomly listened to strangeland season 2. I couldn’t stop. I listened to all 14 episodes in 3 days. It was so captivating and interesting. I felt like I was there doing the reporting. I highly recommend it

The season 1 narration is horrible. But season 2 is really captivating. I highly recommend season 2.

I can’t stand the way he sounds. The case is interesting, but Ben’s voice is nerve racking . If the story wasn’t so interesting I’d skip it all
MeganNay via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/27/23
I found in Season 1 the two hosts sound like they’re just reading a script instead of holding a conversation about a murder. The case is interesting but they’re convo felt weirdly forced and unnatural so I skipped it when Season 2 came out. I feel like they got their footing this time and it...Read full review »

This is just such a quality podcast. I am so impressed and the investigators/hosts are all superb. I love the analysis of the investigator, Paul, in watching the interrogation of Cho. Season 1 was good – notably due to the access to evidence and the official investigation footage and documents. Season 2, on the other hand, is a really, really painful listen. Painfully monotone. Boring. This was a one and done for me. It became a quest to finish this and listen to all 14 episodes that should have been 2 or 3. I would have enjoyed it more if the narrative was performed on Crime Junkie or Anatomy of Murder or I could have read it better. Ugh

I just finished this season, coincidentally on the anniversary of the murders, which make it feel a bit more emotional.
