“I came over from Kirk's Splitscreen podcast. The breakdown of these songs has been fascinating thus far and I can't wait to see how the series evolves moving forward. I recognize that most of the songs have been on the pop end thus far but there are some other hooks I'd love to hear Kirk bite his teeth into:
Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie
And You and I - Yes
Roscoe - Midlake
A Love Supreme Pt. 1 Acknowedgment - John Coltrane
Get Lucky - Daft Punk
As highlighted by the Death Cab and Yes tracks, I really connect with songs that master the long-term build. I'm curious what Kirk's take night be on these two. I also recommend Midlake because of some of the notes in the Africa episode. That song seems to offer some nifty layering and the guitar does its own thing in a way that really works for me, but on its own sounds pretty hectic. Get Lucky is just the ultimate earworm, so I'd love to see it covered and Coltrane's runs in Acknowedgment are maybe the most catchy avante garde riffs I'll forever romanticize. Just a few ideas. Keep killing it!”Read full review »

As a non musician it is fascinating to hear how these songs are built...”Read full review »
