Great podcast, but dig deeper
I love this podcast, it's probably the most thoughtful and in depth analysis of various fashion issues and how various cultural factors have impacted and shaped fashion through the years. I would love to hear a bit more about newer designers though rather than just classic rolling the eyes at millenials. The issues faced by new designers are vastly different to the designers of the boomer or x gen. Look at how culture as a whole has been halted and warped by neoliberalism and capitalism. Your ability to be a designer is made or broken by your bottom line. Unless you're extremely rich, there's no room to make art for the sake of art, and let's face it, rich kids aren't creative because they don't have to be. I notice you reference a lot of philosophy and political theory- I read capitalist realism a few years ago, the theory of lost futures hits the nail on the head of today's landscape of fashion, music and art. While just the more commercially viable ideas will rise to the top, there's slithers of new and beautiful work coming from young people, you just need to know where to look. Great work as always, please keep it up!Read full review »

A fashion podcast that goes deeper than recounting historical styles or acting as a designer soap box. Looking forward to see where this goes.
