Insightful but frustrating
Many useful insights but to get them you have to tolerate a very narrow view of the world. There is a predominantly worshipful attitude towards any tech lead. Gigantic issues are overlooked. The darker basis for ai progress is ignored (digital intrusion and cultural theft). The hosts are more worried about the impact on their sector and sort of accept impact in other areas - and they are particularly weak on the impact of ai on the creative sector. There is no mention of the energy use and climate impact of emerging AI tech except for the occasional chuckle. The devastation of teenage TikTok use is sometimes giggled through. I don’t recall there ever being any reference to the majority of people in the world and what AI reliance will mean. This lack of balance leads to a kind of untethered optimism that is difficult to justify in fact but I do keep listening as there are often insights that I can feed into my own world view.

Kara Swisher’s interview of Elon Musk was one of the best ever. She prods him just enough to get his insights and perspectives on a variety of subjects.

Interviewer wasn’t afraid to politely challenge Speaker Pelosi on some points in much the way Barbara Walters would interview. I will definitely keep listening.
